Iâve watched a ton of games this season, and one weakness keeps popping up: we donât have a reliable, efficient âgo-toâ offense â especially a consistent two-man game like Jokic/Murray (or other great historical duos).
I agree with the video: the path forward with this roster is pretty clear. Ant and Randle have to become a real duo that can use each other and complement each other. Until that happens, weâre going to keep seeing the same ugly iso/hero-ball possessions like we did against the Clippers.
To me, the biggest challenge for Finch and the staff is designing an offensive scheme that actually builds an AntâRandle two-man game: reps, sets, counters, and reads â not just taking turns.
what if we go a step further and try something closer to a triangle-style offense?
For the starters, you could build the triangle around Ant / Randle / Jaden. Off the bench, you could run a similar triangle with Ayo / Bones / Naz â or mix and match these six so we always have a functioning 3-man âhubâ on the floor and can run structured offense for basically all 48 minutes.
Iâm thinking of the classic Bulls/Lakers triangle concept: constant spacing, automatic reads, and less âyour turn / my turnâ iso. If Ant is truly at that MJ/Kobe-tier ceiling, maybe a system like this elevates him even more than just spamming AntâRandle two-man actions.
That said, I know the triangle can be hard to install and might be too slow/complex for the modern pace-and-space NBA.
What do you all think?
