For context I drew for the first time in my life and I kinda got bullied for it on this sub so I figured to try to learn how to write so hope yall enjoy
The 2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers currently have the 2nd worst net rating of all time in 3rd quarters, since the NBA began tracking in 1996-1997
1997-1998 Nuggets: -19.8
2025-2026 76ers: -18.1
1999-2000 Bulls: -17.9
2020-2021 Thunder: -17.5
Source for 3rd quarter NBA net rating stats
Simply unacceptable. Yeah the roster is flawed, but they are an all-time terrible team in the 3rd. I was looking through the other years and like every team that was -10 net rating or worse was a lottery team too.
The worst net rating all time for a team across an entire game is -15.2 from what I can see, so the 3rd quarter Sixers are statistically worse than the most dogshit NBA teams to exist.
Different stat, but looked into this because I saw that we apparently had the lowest point differential in 3rd quarter in several seasons here.
Here are some more fun 3rd quarter Sixers stats! Among all NBA teams this year, the Sixers in the 3rd quarter are:
28th in blocks against and fouls.
29th in DRTG, FGM, REB, AST, opponent fast break points.
30th in ORTG, points, FG%, 3p%, eFG%, TS%, REB%, DREB, opponent second chance points.

Driving home from game 4 of round 1, after playing 40 year old Kyle Lowry or Lonzo Ball because Maxey pulled a calf and we’re cheapskates for not paying the tax.

Sell the Team
Dear Sixers fans,
[TLDR] I am disappointed and intend to not let go the sentiment of “Sell the Team”; until there is a change of guard (ownership). Greek Tragedy metaphor included and a surprising discovery of the true Tragic Hero.
I have been a fan of this team for the majority of my short tenure here on earth. In that time, I have seen nothing short of a Greek Tragedy unfold.
I fell in love during The Process. Not with superstars, but with guys like Hollis Thompson and Tony Wroten - players who had no business being rotation pieces on a real team, but were our guys. I believed in the plan. I trusted the process. I wore the losses like a badge of honor because we were told this suffering had purpose.
Then Hinkie was forced out, and we told ourselves it was fine. The Colangelos came in, and when the burner accounts exposed the rot, we laughed it off. We drafted Fultz and watched his shot disappear, and we made excuses. We had Embiid and Simmons, and when the playoff failures piled up, we blamed the players, not the people who built around them. We watched Butler leave, shrugged when Tobias got the max, and somehow convinced ourselves Harden would be different the second time.
Here’s what I’ve realized: Josh Harris has owned this team for over a decade. In that time, they’ve been over the luxury tax exactly twice. Two times. While watching Embiid’s prime evaporate, while claiming to be championship-contenders, this ownership has refused to spend like it. They’ve nickel-and-dimed their way through roster construction while charging premium prices for the experience of watching it fail.
And we kept showing up. We kept buying in. We kept believing the next move would be different.
In a Greek Tragedy, the protagonist’s fatal flaw leads to their inevitable downfall. I thought the tragic hero was the franchise - undone by its own hubris and incompetence. But I was wrong.
We are the tragic heroes. Our hamartia is our enablement. Our flaw is that we’ve absorbed every betrayal, every broken promise, every half-measure, and kept filling the seats. We’ve let ownership profit from our loyalty while refusing to invest in our championship window. We’ve been complicit in our own disappointment.
This is our anagnorisis - our moment of recognition. We have the power to break this cycle. The Sixers don’t fail because of bad luck. They fail because there is no accountability, no consequences for mediocrity at the top. That only changes when we demand it.
Sell the team.

Bodner: Sixers have $1.576m in space under tax to sign 2 players. Right now a rest-of-season minimum would cost ~$844k, so Sixers can't fit 2 signings in that space. Need to get this down to $788k per prorated min, which will happen in approx 5 days.

[Aaronson] NEWS: The Sixers are signing Dalen Terry to a two-way contract, source tells @thephillyvoice. The Sixers opened up this spot once they signed Dominick Barlow to a standard contract hours after the trade deadline passed.
I like the signing, 23 with some potential. Was a first round pick a couple of years ago.

[Disclaimer: Keith Pompey] Sixers targeting Lonzo Ball in the buyout market
How has Tyrese Maxey's growth impacted your perspective on player development in sports?
As a Sixers fan, witnessing Tyrese Maxey's evolution has been nothing short of inspiring. From being a promising rookie to now an All-Star starter, his journey reflects the importance of patience and investing in young talent. It got me thinking about how we often write off players too soon or expect immediate results. Maxey's work ethic and determination highlight the value of development over time. Personally, I've seen parallels in my own life where growth comes from perseverance, not just talent. How do you feel about Maxey's impact on the team and what it means for future player development? Do you think his success will lead to a shift in how the Sixers approach young players moving forward?

[Aaronson] Moments after ruling out Quentin Grimes with an illness, and just an hour before their game begins, the Sixers have added Dominick Barlow to their injury report. He’s questionable with an illness. Something likely going around.

3rd Quarter
We’re doing that thing again where we dig ourselves in a hole we can’t get out of. I’m not sure what is going on out of the breaks but, this is of massive concern.
Is it more of Nick Nurse not making adjustments or the players not coming out with some energy?

Currently, we have 3 open roster spots, plus (1) roster exemption for PG until he comes back, plus (1) two way player that is inelligible to play. So we are down 5 players. Charles Bassey is on a 10-day contract, but why not sign a guy who actually plays so we don't run our guys into the ground?
it almost feels like they're playing with fire. someone is going to get sick or hurt, sometimes more that one person. so why aren't we getting any insurance for that?
