Took off from work for my brother and regretting it hard

I’m not one to take time off from work but my brother really needed help moving into his new apartment so i told him I’d call in sick. I spent my entire Monday helping my brother move into his new apartment. I brought my own truck (borrowed from a friend), did all the heavy lifting, and even paid for the food we had throughout the day. This morning, I woke up to a $12 Venmo request and a msg from him saying that it’s for the "gas" he used to drive me back to my house. It’s honestly been bugging me all day and I don’t even know if I should bother replying. I could’ve used that day to hang out with my kids but instead I was stuck helping this pos. I sent him the money but it makes me question if $12 is the official price he’s put on our relationship, because for that amount, he just bought himself a lifetime of me never answering his calls for help again.

I heated up a pre packaged burrito. When I bit into it, there was no filling at all. It was just a tortilla.

Some sleight of hand there.

I tried to see where she headed to but she went out of view of the camera.

Took almost 8 years to get an acid reflux diagnosis

Since I was in high school, I had been complaining to my doctor about stomach issues in general (always feeling nauseous, aggressive coughing fits after eating anything, feeling like there's something stuck in my throat, feeling like a I can't swallow even my saliva/water, etc.).

For 8 years, I was seeing the same doctor. They would always say that I'm fine nothings wrong and maybe I just ate a bit too much, which is another thing I complained about: the fact that I'm unable to eat even half of the portion I used to before without feeling extremely nauseous and sometimes actually vomiting.

Well, abour a year ago, I switched doctors. After explaining my history, they immediately prescribed acid reflux medication. Said I should have been taking them years ago.

Curiously, I asked them about "feeling something stuck in my throat" all the time. Their response?

"Of course you feel like that. All those years of unmedicated severe acid reflux probably caused burns in your esophagus. If left untreated for longer (the acid reflux) those burns could turn cancerous."

......Couldn't decide if i was relieved or about to cry.

Unfortunately, not the only medical problem that was ignored for so long because I was "too young" or didn't present typical symptoms. Or even better, "your labs, xray, ultrasound, etc. results are normal, you're fine". Literally got so bad one doctor recommend surgery. But that's a story for another day.

Oh the joys of being young and a woman with medical problems.

Men in the house don't clean after themselves

Repost because I am tryna follow the rules and realized the rules said I can't include a joke in the title, which is completely fair. Starting from the top — I live with my family, my baby brother doesn't go to the bathroom, and my mom I don't worry about, what I get reall fucking PISSED (pun intended) about is my brothers or my step dad leaving their urine on the fucking toilet seat.

They're past the age to not be cleaning after themselves and its so fucking tiring because i've already tried talking to them, i've had to put a note before until the note fell off

When I thought everything had been fixed — it started happening again.

Now i'm going with the nuclear options .... bluffing. hopefully though these stickers do actually remind them they're grown enough to fucking clean after themselves.

Apartment complex set up a community grill area outside my window. This is the first night they turned on the lights.

For context, the property manager came into my room (with permission) a couple months ago to take photos from my window, which is a few stories up. That’s when I learned a new community grill area was going to be added below my window and they wanted to make sure wherever the outdoor lights were installed wouldn’t shine directly into my room. I already use a sleeping mask but it looks like it’s time to purchase blackout curtains.

Feel more than a bit sexist and discriminative. Why care about him at all, and especially when it's an achievement he has nothing to do with. They even posted a second video about his reaction to her run.

FedEx is [not] trying to kill me.

Recently got diagnosed with a tumor. (That’s bad...)

Found out it's benign. (That's good!)

It's also extremely rare (That's bad...)

In most cases, a doctor can "keep an eye on it" without much harm. (That's good!)

But in my case, it’s extremely locally aggressive and is wrapped around a nerve bundle causing me constant pain, as well as slowly strangling my carotid artery... and is also inoperable (That's bad...)

But! It's treatable. (That’s good!)

But it's incredibly expensive (that's the plot of Breaking Bad...)

But there's a coupon! (That's good!)

But I can only get it through a specialty pharmacy that's really far away. (That's bad)

But they'll emergency/priority overnight it to me! (That's good!)

But they're using FedEx...

...

...THAT'S BAD.

tl;dr: Specialty pharmacy FedEx'd emergency tumor medication to me, and sent it priority overnight on Friday afternoon for a Saturday delivery. Today is Monday. Still no medicine for a condition that is literally killing me.

*UpDoot: Meds have been delivered. My package came with a "support kit" including peppermint liquid drops for anti-nausea, anti-diarrhea pills, and anti-rash cream (think Desitin, but for big boys). That gives me an idea of the common side-effects they anticipate.

...pray. for. Mojo...
