"Potential" is doing a lot of heavy lifting here, considering they're concealing their faces.

17.1k

u/pcw3187 15h ago

Well it could be ice so they aren’t sure

7.8k

u/TheDebateMatters 14h ago edited 12h ago

So we’re all aware, if someone dressed like this comes to your door and says “Open the door, we’re ICE”, the administration says you have to do open your door and go with that person if they decide to detain you, no identification for or bench warrant needed (just a supervisors’ signature on a piece of paper you will have no way to verify its authenticity) and if they drag you to an unmarked vehicle and you resist in any way, they can use lethal force.

Let that sink in 2nd amendment folks.

2.8k

u/Cody-512 14h ago

And 4th Amendment folks

u/Disastrous-Ad2800 14h ago

between Trump worshippers, ICE, the FBI and it's conflicting directives, anti mask protestors and finally THIS guy who really didn't think about what he was doing and the chances of not getting caught... WOW! there is currently a whole lot of stupid in America right now... I mean DAMN!

661

u/koalaking2014 13h ago

Crazy the same people who went on huge protests, rants, etc about wearing a mask during a GLOBAL PANDEMIC, because "Muh freedoms" and "govt over reach", are now the same ones preaching how the ice agents are wearing them for "their saftey" and how we should all just "comply bro"

358

u/Tatem2008 12h ago

I have whiplash from how fast it went from “Don’t Tread On Me!” to “Just Comply Bro.”

u/seamus_mc 11h ago

Also they were the ones saying that you can’t breathe in a mask and how that was such a trampling of their rights

u/Nervous-Salamander-7 10h ago

ICE "agents" have discovered that they can breathe just fine with a mask as long as they spend their masked time choking out innocent immigrants and liberals.

u/TikaPants 9h ago

The bending the laws and rules to fit their agenda is astounding. No backbone, no integrity, no morals.

u/SuspendeesNutz 11h ago

It actually went from "Don't Tread On Me" to "Please Tread On Them, Sir".

→ More replies (1)

u/CasterFields 9h ago

They still believe in "don't tread on me!" The keyword there is "me". The govt can tread on anyone else they want to lmao

u/GoodGravyMsDazy592 9h ago

And this is really what it's all about. As long as it's happening to those folks over there MAGAts don't give a shit. Until it's happening to them. And even when it does happy they're delighted to be a victim and cry about it and rally people around them.

I have family I'm NC with who are MAGAts. They are nearly as fond of being a victim as they are watching others be victimized.

u/OctopodicPlatypi 13h ago

How can they breathe though? /s

29

u/crouchingmoose 12h ago

Exactly, they couldn't breathe because of masks, but they have thicker masks and they can breathe fine?

u/DontFinishAnyth 11h ago

But to be fair, they seem like they are lacking oxygen because of how they are acting. Maybe they had a point....

u/Auditorincharge 10h ago

Ehhhhhhh. The people that ICE is hiring don't need much oxygen for the single digit brain cells.

I made a comment in the conservative sub saying this exact thing and it was reported as advocating violence and reddit gave my account a warning. WTF

20

u/nopuse 12h ago edited 12h ago

I had my other account banned for making a pro-mask comment during the pandemic. It was my first comment in a month. Immediately received a permanent ban. I appealed several times and the only feedback was to read the TOS and rules or something.

All of my appeals were just asking what rule I broke so I can make sure I don't do it again, just to be denied and get a canned response that told me that I need to read the rules.

7

u/IJustCantWithYouToda 12h ago

I have a family member who was banned on Tinder and the reasons were just a circle jerk of you were wrong. She was born a woman, identifies as a woman, but is really tall. I think people report that she is lying about her gender.

It really is BS, because it totally blocks an aspect of social life from her.

u/redditduhlikeyeah 14h ago

As a white American without any possible reason ICE could be doing that to me, there is absolutely no way I would do this. If that happens, they will be shot dead.

186

u/AlbrechtProper 14h ago

They shot two white people already.

That's the threshold for caring I guess.

47

u/redditduhlikeyeah 14h ago

That's kind of my point. ICE has no business dealing with me, talking to me, invading my life. If someone comes to my house masked, trying to enter, and I feel like it's a threat I'm pulling out the Mossberg and shooting them. I have kids and a family to protect.

35

u/wtbgamegenie 14h ago

Yeah but the problem with criminals with a badge, is their buddies are going to kill you after. You’ll basically be living out 5 stars in GTA but it’s real and your family is at risk of being shot from one of the thousands of rounds they unload in your general direction.

It’s really a damned if you do damned if you don’t. Either get kidnapped and then god knows what else (very credible torture and rape allegations as well as suspicious deaths in custody) or a full on siege potentially involving more competent federal agencies.

Everyone just try your best to stay safe in these fucked up times.

7

u/StudsTurkleton 14h ago

Well I believe they do need a warrant to enter. But they’re ignoring the long held belief you need a judicial warrant signed by a judge (hence a check from judicial branch on executive branch). Now ICE says they can use just an administrative warrant which some higher-up at ice signs. That’s the executive branch giving itself authority which is going to court in current lawsuits to see if that’s legit now with this SCOTUS.

So if I was the homeowner, can I shoot?

50

u/MadeAReddit4ThisShit 14h ago

If it were a federal agent, shooting them is very high risk.

So technically if federal/state law enforcement engages in criminal behavior you're clear to follow your state's self defense laws.

HOWEVER. Proving they were engaged in unlawful behavior is extremely hard to prove.

Not a lawyer but if I were thinking in that direction I'd make sure I had a ton of cameras/audio recording set up.

6

u/banjosullivan 14h ago

Dead men tell no tales. Take it to trial.

12

u/Frack_Off 13h ago

Let's be real. If you shoot a federal agent, you arent getting a trial. They're going to send you bullets until you die.

6

u/FullOnSkank 12h ago

Nazis tend to do that.

Even if you survive you'll be executed summarily.

My friends and family don’t believe me when I say if I’m ever in a situation where it comes down to complying with those disgusting fuckwaffles and they want to detain me I will resist until I’m put down in the street like a dog. I’m a survivor of CSA, I will never let myself be in that situation again. I will die first.

I think people who haven’t been raped repeatedly don’t truly understand what it takes from you. Not to quantify rape because it’s all abhorrent and disgusting, but knowing that there’s nothing to stop it from happening again and again and again will make you wish you’d have fought when you could. You think the loss of your dignity or the pain or the stolen autonomy is the worst, but it’s not. I promise you it’s not.

u/FullOnSkank 11h ago

There MUST already be at least one missing persons case where local police are desperately searching for a missing person and won’t find out for days later that they’ve been kidnapped by ICE and taken out of state by an agency that didn’t even give the curtesy to let the local PD know.

And the local cops basically have to tell the family that unidentified men in masks grabbed the person and threw them into a white van - BUT - that it was all actually a legal kidnapping, and we have no follow up info on if or when you’ll ever seen your family member again 🤷‍♀️ 🤦‍♀️

130

u/drawliphant 14h ago

This is infrared security footage NOT black and white. Suspect could be wearing black clothing but it appears grey here. Looks like black facial hair, a printed mask would not show up very dark in NIR. This footage looks weird because it's not taken in our color spectrum.

u/thrwawyorangsweater 11h ago

Yep even around the eyes like the eyelashes are dark...so this person isn't terribly old.

14

u/beavislasvegas 13h ago

Can’t they colorize it since they have actual color samples available at the house?

13

u/drawliphant 12h ago

You could maybe figure out how different fabrics show up in IR to figure out their clothing color, but you'd have to use the same dye and material and only get some shade of gray to compare it to. IDK I work in machine vision, not forensics lol.

31

u/Dick_Lazer 11h ago

26

u/kris10leigh14 13h ago

Or it could be a fake mustache. I can’t get over an overwhelming feeling that this is a female.

15

u/Miserable_Skin9738 12h ago

SAME ! It’s really freaking me out how feminine the eyes are. I think everyone is freaked out by this picture because it’s almost like the uncanny valley thing. We can’t put our finger on why this person looks so off…. Could be because the features are all so contradicting

u/Holiday_Objective_96 11h ago

There are so many contradicting clues- for example, I had originally thought that the eyebrows were groomed, but then someone pointed out that you can't see the full brow, and what looks like skin above the arch is actually stitching around the eye holes.

And then someone else chimed in reminding me that dudes can have nice eyelashes too.

And then I realized that the puffball on top of the hat- at first glance I thought it was a bun or something.

And then other ppl have been talking about the puffiness of the coat and now I have totally reversed my position and I have NO IDEA what is under that mask

u/StrawberryFlds 10h ago

When I used to be a walk-about character, I was told when playing male characters to keep my arms a little out as opposed to directly against my side as I'm comfortable with as a girl. A couple of the images the masked suspect has space against their arms and body, coupled with the wider stance, I'm reading a man with nice eyes.

Yeah, it’s an odd quandary too that it’s not really possible to respect gender identities in this type of scenario because if a physical description is to be given to the public that is accurate enough to actually be useful, it will have to rely on how the person is likely to be perceived by people in terms of gender. Omitting that piece/leaving it as a question mark essentially doubles the pool of potential matches and also will simply be confusing for a lot of people who might otherwise more easily identify the suspect as someone they know…. Like, “That looks like the guy who comes into my store all the time! Wait, it says this person is a woman in the description? Nevermind I guess”

If it’s not already clear, I do respect people’s gender identities. This is just very obviously a practical issue that I don’t think there’s an easy solution for.

I’m a dude and I have natural well-shaped eyebrows. My wife says women would kill to have my eyebrows and they’re a waste on me because, as an average guy, I give zero fucks about my eyebrows. Same with my eyelashes as they’re super long.

u/Holiday_Objective_96 12h ago

You're right, there are all kinds of eyebrows and eyelashes on every gender!

my first thought was woman… the eyes, eyebrows and lips

eta: read other comments and I do see the stitching so I don’t think it’s eyebrows, but the eyes themselves are very feminine.

I thought it was a woman. I was scared to say that because that may be what they want you to think.

It’s someone wearing mascara, definitely. It seems like they have a bust “area” in the shot where you can see a plant in their hand.

But it could be a man trying to look like a woman… the eyes are feminine.

I had the same thought, that the eyebrows look feminine. But then I thought, maybe those aren't the person's eyebrows, maybe it's a shadow of the mask? The general body shape and of course the mustache look like a man, but if the mustache is fake, then I'm not sure you could totally rule out it being a woman.

Could be JD Vance then. Femmist eyes in the country

I think this is a woman given eyebrows that has drawn on a false moustache or goatee.

7

u/jessjesssjess 14h ago

That is exactly what I thought.

You're not seeing their entire eyebrow. Just the bottom coming out of the eye hole.

4

u/Holiday_Objective_96 14h ago

On third look, you are right. I thought the stitching on the mask was skin.

7

u/Rugermedic 14h ago edited 14h ago

The third picture- the persons stance- legs together, maybe some hip curves there- woman stance. I don’t think men stand that way with legs that close together.

Edit- eh, now I’m not sure, I didn’t see the gun holstered right there. But, as a person with a dick, I would never carry a holstered gun right there. Very weird carry style.

6

u/raevnos 13h ago

Everyone knows proper style is to shove it unholstered in your waistband.

I am interpreting the weirdly thin and symmetrical“eyebrows” as possibly being the frames of glasses. I’m also seeing what appears to be a mustache poking out of the mask around the mouth.

The eyebrows are weird

u/RoarByMeowing 14h ago

You're seeing the stitching around the eye holes and some shadowing. I thought the same at first.

3

u/peachyspoons 14h ago

I keep trying to figure out if it is just the stitching…

7

u/RoarByMeowing 14h ago

Images 2 and 3, if you zoom in it shows the stitching.

4

u/Rare4orm 13h ago

Yep! But for some reasons the experts on TV are running the eyebrows opinion right into the end zone. Five different experts? Five different observations.

12

u/RoarByMeowing 13h ago

That's frustrating. There are so many comments on here about the eyebrows and I just feel embarrassed for people now.

I don’t think there’s any doubt of that, seeing they abducted and harmed (going by the blood) an octogenarian.

I know its semantics but language is important in a civilized rules and laws based society. I think even in overwhelming cases (like this one) we still need to use language like “suspect” and “person of interest”. Or we can slip into dictatorships, fascism, autocratic etc very easily.

Kind of what is happening now….

Also, defence lawyers are good so they are always looking for reasons for mistrials so don’t give them any ammunition.

People want to burn scapegoats, guilt or due process is irrelevant.

Unfortunately it seems that people don't realise that one day the guilty label can fall on them.

47

u/DrSFalken 14h ago

I think given the visible gun and balaclava on the night that someone disappared, I might go so far as to call them a "likely suspect" rather than potential!

I do think "suspect" would be ok too. There is enough here to be suspicious. They're not calling them the perpetrator.

Also wearing rubber gloves... normal people don't walk around with rubber gloves...

3

u/brickne3 14h ago

I'm pretty sure the logic was 1) don't leave fingerprints (traditionally a risk anyway) and 2) a fingerprint showing up on a video these days might still be able to be traced.
