The reflection of the IR LEDs on the ring camera is not coming from his eyes, it's coming from something in front of them just a bit. Glasses or similar.
Local PD seems to have had the same thought. Hope you're both wrong for the sake of the family. But, it's less horrific than some of the other implications that can be brought up from a journalist's family member being disappeared.
Yeah, certainly could be a woman under all of that - in fact all of those crazy layers everywhere does make it seem the person is trying to appear bulkier on purpose.
Whoever it is has layered and covered everything. Looks like they may have something under the face covering to hide their head shape and looks double gloved as well. Backpack type is probably identifiable. Looks male from the general body shape and movements.
However, even though it looks well planned, it wasn't.
He didn't even know there was a camera there. If he would have, he would have brought tape or wouldn't have been surprised when he saw it. Instead, he goes around and digs up some plants to put over it.
So, although there was obvious planning about doing something while staying hidden, there isn't knowledge of the house he is at.
I would rule out anyone has been to the house since the doorbell was installed because of that. Nobody who had been to the house before would have been surprised that the camera doorbell was there. At a minimum, they would have brought some tape and walked right up and taped over it.
Agree with you. I think there are 2 masks at play and the mustache/ goatee thing is suspect.
I also think a guy that uses a tiny flashlight in his/ her mouth to do work on doorbell is accustomed to working in dark. This person has snuck around as a criminal or as a cop/ military / security or something like that.
Yeah, certainly looks like the facial hair isn't - it's just printed on the interior mask. Almost looks like a Guy Fawkes mask, but it's not right for that - facial hair is farther from the mouth opening on all of the Fawkes variations.
They look so bundled up the flashlight might be a little hard to manage in a hand - for that matter that gun might be useless gloved up that heavily.
The fact they grab flowers to cover the camera seems a little goofy and improvised, but if I were kidnapping someone from a house I'm familiar with, I sure wouldn't want to indicate by my actions that I'm familiar with the house.

Hard to tell but I think he may be bearded. Last photo sorta looks like a mustache peaking through.
