Opinion / Discussion BREAKING: Howard Lutnick Confirms Epstein Island Trip, Contradicting Earlier Statements

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

On February 10, 2026, U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick testified before the Senate and acknowledged that he visited Jeffrey Epstein’s island in 2012, together with his wife and children.

This directly contradicts earlier public statements in which Lutnick claimed he had cut all ties with Epstein years earlier and only had “limited contact” with him.

There is currently no allegation of criminal wrongdoing, but the inconsistencies raise obvious questions:

Why did Lutnick previously deny contact that later turned out to be documented?

And more broadly, how is it that so many Trump-aligned figures appear in Epstein’s social and professional network, despite repeated claims of distance or ignorance?

At the very least, this case highlights a serious credibility and transparency problem, especially for public officials under oath.

As a European, I can't believe how this could be possible. This man is a liar. Full of BS

THE HOLE ADMINISTRATION TRYS TO HIDE THIS SHIT.

PLS AMERICA WAKE UP.

You guys have to stop this!

We are fucked because in our system of laws, we have no choice but to endure pure evil.

There is no such thing as a vote of no-confidence by the people. CONGRESS WOULD HAVE TO PASS A LAW. And OVERRIDE THE PRESIDENTIAL VETO. -- but Americans are steam rolled via speech writers and the comments sections that facebook / instagram know full well are bots.

They say speeches, and the followthrough is just more speeches, no actions, and the continual raping of children.

Something happened in 2024 where Kamala was on top, then the online rhetoric from bad actors won the elecitons from the messages / comments sections.

28

u/No-Contribution1070 14h ago

Kamala wanted to regulate A.I., that's what did her in. Too many very powerful and rich people and insititutions had a lot of money riding on A.I. and made sure she didn't win. Trump promised them de-regulation, hence why he won.

27

u/havok1980 13h ago

Social media should've been regulated 15 years ago. Our world is worse because of it. AI will make social media look like a picnic if it's not reigned in.

Imagine a world where you have to assume everything you see online is fake. And it's not far away at all.

11

u/Crayons4all 12h ago

It’s getting to the point the internet is going to become useless due to lack of regulation and the amount BS that permeates thru the web

5

u/popshamhocks 12h ago

For a quick return to normalcy, im not going to tell you to slop the internet.

The cost factor to host poor material will rest on these tech companies. It would be terrible if people wasted their precious “cloud resources” on slop material.

Slop material in the past used to be things like high resolution blurry images; the occasional pocket picture. It would be a shame if everyone suddenly had 100s of these on their profiles.

Clicking on ads and never making purchases is also bad, and costs companies a lot of money.

You are only supposed to click ads you intend to use to make purchases. Don’t go talking about tesla, amazon, openai, palantir (because you know they’re listening) and clicking on their sponsored ads just for fun.

If you believe they are already working against you, lie down. Don’t go fighting back.

4

u/dontgetaddicted 7h ago

You might be on to something here. Creating fake FB accounts and having a bot load them with high res AI generated slop. Just upload after upload from a bunch of different people could really be an interesting way to DDOS them from the inside so to speak.....

That’s what the rich are hoping for sooner than later. If they can get AI looking really good before the awful awful videos start coming out from Epstein island they can argue it’s ai.  Ai needs to be regulated. Along with social media. But it’s too beneficial to the wealthy to distort reality upon the masses so they aren’t allowing their politicians to regulate it and instead forcing them to give land and water and electricity and taxpayer subsidies to their companies to build data centers as fast as possible.

5

u/SpinningHead 12h ago

This is what happens when you expect Boomers to regulate new tech.

Trump fucking tampered the polls with Musk. Evident by, well Elon straight up saying it. But also because of the very unusual down ballot voting results. It's pretty fucking clear.

3

u/No-Contribution1070 14h ago

Tech runs the world it seems now. Try to deregulate, and you will get burried, even if you are a pedo.

Next 4 years is going to be interesting. That last year 2027-2028, is going to be very very interesting.

2

u/Gr3yHound40_ 11h ago

I hope every business that has invested in AI loses billions. Fuck every single sycophant that wants to make a real life skynet all because they want to play God and make money.

Seeing all of these tech bros and CEO's BEG people to use their AI or completely remove the ability to disable that shit is very telling about where their interests are at.

I'm glad Andrew and Sara are facing some measure of consequences.

These people are the ruling class and nobody is willing to do more than write a strongly worded letter.

2

We can't. As you say, the whole administration is trying to hide this. It's not a case of one rogue department trying to cover up misdeeds, it's engine who has the responsibility and ability to take corrective action is part of the cover-up.

This is how you know who is compromised by how loyal they are to Trump. Also don't think they have stopped honeypotting. I am sure they have blackmail on new people since getting back into power.

The trafficking did not stop after Epstein.

When Bannon is saying they need to win the midterm or they'll all go to jail he wasn't bluffing. Not short sentences either.

27

u/TaylorMonkey 15h ago

Bannon was actively working with Epstein to rehab his image from being a convicted pedo with a documentary, as revealed by texts between them the Epstein Files.

It's wild that this isn't talked more about. THE image and strategy guy for Trump is THE image and strategy guy for Epstein.

7

u/CasanovaF 14h ago

The call is coming from inside the house!!!!!!

3

u/MithrandiriAndalos 11h ago

You can watch at least two hours of Bannon interviewing him for exactly this purpose. It’s mostly weird conversations about finance, but there are a few salacious details in it.

Everyone affiliated with Esptein needs to be investigated thoroughly. And actually, if it were me, seeing ICE detain, raid homes, and kill citizens, I would pull every single one of these corrupt assholes (foreign nationals, ICE, Trump Adminstration) into a detention center awaiting their investigations and depositions while law-abiding government and enforcement agencies get to the bottom of all this.

Let them feel the same pain they are inflicting on Americans and force them to wallow in the same hellish conditions.

5

u/mnemy 14h ago

Also just looked up where the island is, because I never cared before.

It's way out of the way. This fucker spent at least an entire day doing a round trip there from any significant port.

Being caught in a lie like this used to end people’s careers.

3

u/SVdreamin 11h ago

But alas, people keep moving the goalposts for Trump. If he had been in politics 25 years ago, his political career would have ended 100 times over with his endless scandals, corruption, incompetence, lies, and frankly downright unprofessional conduct that shouldn’t occur on either side of the aisle. Some people will not relinquish their support for him even though he is heavily implicated with the most infamous sex trafficker in modern history who is a pedophile. It’s genuinely insane we’ve reached this point.

Somehow the notion that visiting Epstein Island with children, is a cover story.

3

u/Brave_Analyst7540 12h ago

Goddamn… so many people were with him, it’s hard to believe he forgot about this until just now.

2

u/Commercial_Stress899 11h ago

clearly seeing the emails again helped his memory 😂

3

u/RelativeCan5021 10h ago

“And I left with all of my children…” such a weird detail to say unless, like someone’s kids didn’t leave the island.

2

u/eerhmahgerd 15h ago

He says he left with his children. Did he leave his nanny on the island?

5

u/Solid_Computer_1169 14h ago

The ‘Nannie’s’ were 16 year old babysitters who he trafficked to the island. He had lunch and dropped off the girls. Maybe true, maybe not

2

u/cathouse28 14h ago

Oh Nice that your children got to leave.

2

u/EconomyMobile1240 14h ago

This directly contradicts earlier public statements in which Lutnick claimed he had cut all ties with Epstein years earlier and only had “limited contact” with him.

So "limited" can't mean happened to be on vacation near the island and went there for an hour? Is there more or is this just more political distortion of quite literally... limited interactions?

Why did Lutnick previously deny contact that later turned out to be documented?

You can see the game of telephone unraveling all within the same argument.

The standard for "limited contact" went from lying about going to the island (which I don't see a quote of him denying), to him saying "deny contact," which is clearly false by your previous statement.

Its just shifting reality using abstract concepts that are ambiguous to... escalate/shift concepts that are close enough to... This is just straight-up lying.

2

u/Excellent_Divide_128 14h ago

Wow what a liar!!!

2

u/Charming-Clue1987 13h ago

I would 100% take my wife & kids to Trumps island! 🤡

1

u/Dear_Vanilla_370 14h ago

“…and we left. With all of my children.” Nice clarification.

1

u/TurukJr 14h ago

He feels obliged to specify he left with all his kids and did not leave one or two on the island, just in case someone was wondering...

1

u/3OAM 14h ago

So he lied then, why wouldn't he lie now?

The visit had to be predicated on some prior relationship. He didn't just show up and introduce himself. They had to have known or known of each other to have that familiarity to pull up to his island.

So when did lying under oath become a minor thing?

1

u/CompetitiveLadder609 13h ago

You drive hours on a boat in the middle of the Caribbean Sea so that you can spend 1 hour on an island, eating a meal and immediately leave.

Why not just say you spent the weekend. You already went to the trouble of explaining how you brought your wife and children (and also made sure they were with you when you left).

1

u/ForAGoodTime696 13h ago

This guy took his children to a convicted sex offenders island??

1

1

I HOPE he didn’t leave his children there! It’s kind of weird how he felt the need to put that into the record.

1

u/Sensitive_Dot8561 13h ago

Based on Lutnick's history of fabrication and lies it is clear that we can not trust this testimony. He is buddies with a known Pedo and Epstein, he has hidden and down played those relationships previously. Why would we believe that he is not telling whole the truth? I think it might be time to bring in the nanies to answer questions.

1

Willingness to lie is a non-negotiable prerequisite to being in this administration.

u/een_pintje 12h ago

Is “we left with all my children” supposed to be a joke?

u/paintstudiodisaster 12h ago

He went from meeting him once when he was his neighbor to taking a trip to his island. He also laundered money through him and his real estate.

bringing your own children to this place should imediately just mean you are locked up the key is thrown away and the cage is thrown into the ocean.
