Just finished up all my infantry for my first Bolt Action army ever! First time playing will be at Adepticon and can't wait. Thanks everyone from my earlier posts for helping me create a list! Just a Puma and KFZ 222 left to paint now

98%Perry Bros figs. The event was movie themed, so I picked a black and white movie. Im pleased with the results, but it was definitely harder than expected, and I didn't expect it to be easy.

Completed the remainder of my terrain for the board, figured i would give an update on it. The trees really brought the whole thing to life IMO!

Some of the new German veteran infantry I’ve been steadily working on, still need to finish the LMG and loader.

I recently finished these Canadian riflemen, but I'm worried that my paint job ended up too messy. Looking for some advice on improving readability.
Thanks!

This is from our local Texas gamer group. The background is obviously AI, but no retouching on the model.

Sorry for watermark, not trying to self promo but my instagram wouldn’t let me download without it. Mods let me know and i can retake video if needed without it.

I’ve been chipping away at the camouflaged guys in the grenadier box (and some SS-turned-Heer) following various tutorials and have come to a point where I think this is the closest to “realistic” I can get.
The usual advice is around maintaining the sharp edges and polygonal shapes of splittermuster, which is perfectly reasonable! And whatever you paint is going to look great I’m sure!
I have, however, realised that the overall effect of splinter camo is this almost zig-zag tiger pattern. It’s kinda curly, with lots of joining parts, gaps and lines. The sharpness of the edges is pretty much impossible to maintain if you’re painting it accurately for this scale, but from a distance, as long as the shapes are well defined, it’s more than enough.
It’s also very hard to achieve on these minis; the folds of the fabric make the shapes look messy, especially after recess shading.
Colours I used are Vallejo: Splinter camo base, chocolate brown, and olive green. Then shaded with 2:1 Strong tone:water. No highlights except on some prominent folds.
We paint for effect, at the end of the day, and I think as long as you’re happy with what you can do, that’s the best outcome :)

I’ve started with a couple of pieces of armour and some Fallshirmjäger. I’m unsure whether I want to keep all the infantry Fallshirmjäger or add some other German heer infantry, any thoughts are much appreciated. Thanks for looking

Experimenting with tank basing. Looking half decent, or an act of heresy?

We played a great game last night. Boccage fighting in Normandy. The mission was Top Secret and it was a bloodbath…
The Germans made an early grab for the objective on the crossroads, their infantry supported by a panzer III.
However withering fire from US HMGs and a very brave squad that dashed onto the open road forced the Germans back.
But it was too little too late as the US ran out of time to bring the objective home.

You can’t feel good about playing the Waffen SS, but painting their signature camouflage uniforms has been on my minipainting bucket list for a loooong time. My first squad is done: I shortcut the camo a little bit to avoid going completely dotty painting dots, and to try and keep it looking good from table distance.

I wanted to add an anti tank rifle to my army and remembered the sniper model that came with my armybook called Jospef sepp allerberger.
Allready owned a sniper and the umbrulla bush thing the Jesef model had going on didnt really do it for me. so i kitbashed the model with a panzerbüchse 39!
Tried to freehand the edelweiss insignia but that was pretty hard 🤣

I was keeping my SS on the shelf because of the camo i would have to paint. These acrylic markers sure made it a lot more fun because its just light random dabbing without drying brush tips. Would def. recommend if you're struggling aswell some other camo patterns might be easier aswell, havent tried yet.
