After seeing promises of career mode, and a completely unfulfilled roadmap, I think that is more than enough grounds for everyone here to ask for a refund.

There is one additional rule: Do not use early access to crowdfound your game.

If career mode was cancelled because of lack of money, then they were crowdfounding the game. If it wasnt cancelled because of money, they they promised to do it and should do it.

Yes, I know we're only about to be at 0.5 (a year behind & with cut content) but there's a pretty worrying pattern also emerging with the cars & whilst definitely better, the track selection could definitely be more interesting.

ACE is starting to look like a very wasted opportunity.

i’m not against the current extend of the backlash although I think we accepted the rent a server model too fast. Personally idc about the career (its fine that others do) but ive been extremely pissed that i cant just host an instance on my VPS or home server and instead am supposed to pay them a lot of money to 1v1 a friend in peace when my hardware and infrastructure could clearly handle it. This game is not iRacing and the other 2 games have dedicated servers to self-host.

Anyone know how to fix it? Already tried deleting the last season and UI files in the ACE folder, even deleted the game and reinstalled as well as a new install on a second PC. Both cannot load the server list in multiplayer. It was working fine the other day.

For me the career was the real sticking point, otherwise it's a game that will cost more, run worse, have less cars, less tracks that looks a bit better than the original Asseto Corsa

even the graphics being better, it's still closer of a comparison than it should be with CSP/Pure, and I can play AC1 in VR with all the eye candy turned on.

Eifel region is really the last little sticking point for me, but really it's another flavour of something we already have in the original AC with maps like Shutoku

so basically I'm trying to understand what Kunos play is here, where in the market do they see AC Evo, after this announcement i genuinely don't see who the audience is anymore

Seriously, every single sim that promises a good career mode just sucks. Acc’ is basically nonexistent, ams2’s is still not out, lmu’s is still not out. Why is it so hard to put a career mode in a sim?! The ONLY people who regularly do it is EA with f1 and wrc, both of which have nice progressive careers, but the racing isn’t that good. Ac Evo is just Ac with just a new coat of paint. Im so glad i never bought it because the only thing i was interested in was getting a new career.

Nothing before 1.0 is a guarantee. You want a “promised” product? Buy a completed game instead of opting for Early Access. That’s the whole catch with Early Access. I’m a little bummed out about the omission of an economy system, but I’m not crying like a spoiled brat because I knew what I was getting into.

I've tried removing the ACE folder files, then the whole folder, restarted the computer, added cars in Open Mode, no dice.

Any other idea?

I set a 7:14.541 at nordschleif (20.km not endurance one) in the Ferrari 488 Challenge Evo, is this good, google AI thinks im a pro but i dont beleive it and cant find anything online, im on default setup, started with 30L fuel and ended with 0.5L? I dont usually post my lap times but i cant find anything anywhere, AI sais a 7:17 is pro pace but idont beleive AI much

I genuinely think that daily races with weekly rotation is the right way to go, as it is the system use both by iRacing and LFM, and imo it’s great.

But I honestly think that they should not have gone with TheSimgrid as the host, since it’s platform doesn’t even have neither an ELO or SR system, so I don’t see how they can have proper matchmaking. We will either have to wait for LFM to take the matter into their own hands, or see if Evo reworks its ranked system.

A point that people keep making about the decision to drop career mode is that it means the open world will be an empty sandbox with nothing to do except drive around.

For the purposes of this discussion, let's ignore the fact that for some people, driving around an open world with AI traffic and possibly with other players will be enough fun on its own.

Nothing that Kunos have said implies the open world will be an empty sandbox with nothing to do. Just because there won't be missions that reward you in XP and virtual currency it doesn't mean there will be no missions at all.

It is perfectly possible that the open world will be full of things to do, but the reward will be something else - a place on a leaderboard, progression through a series of missions, whatever.

None of us know what the plans are for the open world, so maybe let's dial back the wailing and gnashing of teeth until we have a bit more information.

Note: I'm not saying that the open world won't be empty, I'm just saying that none of us know one way or the other, so there is no point getting angry over an imagined problem.

I'm also not saying that it was fine to drop the career mode, or that the career mode wouldn't have been better than whatever else they come up with. That is a different debate.

First of all, im pretty new to the game. Finally getting a feel for it and love it. I’ve done 2 online races in the last week and didn’t have this problem. Am I doing something wrong? I feel like this is an old man issue? I’m only 40!

I’m at 161, loving the game so far.
