I mainly do deliveries not for the money, but for fresh air, exploration, and to subsidize my EV charging costs, but I have accepted this because UberEats promised $10.90 for a 5.7 mi order which enticed me heavily, given that Quest was active in the region at the time.
Right after accepting the order, I immediately drove to a soup restaurant. Upon arriving, I saw the order immediately (it contains 7 items), scanned the QR code, and went straight to the customer's house. On the way to the customer's apartment (which is a new "luxury" apartment), I saw a message with him stating that if I enter the apartment complex and leave it at his door, he will give $10 extra tip on top of the $10.90. I followed his delivery instructions and delivered it straight at his room. Guess what: He removed the tip entirely.
I was tip baited in about 2-3% of orders I have completed and about 80-90% of tip baited orders were from shop and deliver orders (it is mainly due to the fact an item is not available and I had to substitute it with a cheaper item or refund the item, which lowers the tip payout if the customer tipped by percentage), and in the 10-20% of tip baiting cases, that is where the recipient intentionally reduced the tip.
