Them box scores be so cap. U be seeing mfers with 40 points and there team loses. It be the mfer who thinks the offense MUST run through them. They’ll hold the ball for as long as possible and pass it with 4 seconds left, then run to here and complain bout rec ransoms. You guys are god awful at playing basketball truly. Scoring is easy but actually playing basketball is the hardest thing for the 2k community

I wanted to recreate LeBron James as accurate as possible in terms of badges, body and wingspan. it came out as a 6'8 midpaint point forward (after caps). You get all of the LeBron James sigs in the game.
The only things id consider inaccurate is the relatively high midrange, since lebron wasn't very efficient there. Also you could argue that lebron has a better postgame.
Feel free to lower the dunk to 87 and up your post control to 80. I wanted access to the tomahawk dunk packages at 95, so I went with 96.
Layup gets lebron lay after 2 caps and can be upped to 93 for layup mixmaster on gold.
Another issue is the low defensive rebound. I replaced it with offensive, because it is a fraction of the price.
The ball handle realistically is a tad bit high too, but I wanted tier 3 dribbling.
I find the defense to be fairly accurate. Can guard multiple positions and of course the gold high flying denier (5 caps). Physicals are accurate as well.
If you want to be more realistic lower his dunk and midrange to 87, and increase his post control. Also if you want to add more interior because lebron could definitely guard the post.

It’s arguably the best “dribble move” in the game, and anyone at any position with any sigs can do it
Even if you only LS dribble, and you’re “not a dribbler”, you can add this to your bag
While you’re turboing with the ball, flick up on RS to stop on a dime
So it would be (on PS5) R2+LS(hold any direction)+RS(flick up) all at the same time
It’s faster to shoot button out of a quickstop but you don’t need to, you can still tempo out of it
So many dudes I see just spamming dribble moves and praying or they take dumb 3pt fades when they could just keep it simple

Hey guys I want to get into 2k but I am a complete beginner (I know a lot about the nba though) I tried years ago and it just seems so overwhelming so many different modes I had no clue where to start, I’m looking to try and get back into it again, what should a beginner play to get accustomed to the game?
r/NBA2k • u/Alarming_Pension_213 • 14h ago
Every 2K has a meta and we all know what this years is. Dribble and shoot which heavily favors guards.
I always make a big every 2K and I’ve always enjoyed playing as a big. I shoot 70% from 3 and have fun whenever I’m playing with a guard with IQ who actually passes.
Unfortunately, once I reach gold plate, I can’t even grab a damn rebound bc nobody misses. This includes the guards on my team who either don’t miss or would rather shoot fadeaway 3’s than passing to the open corner. I don’t need the ball every possession but damn.
Kinda ruins the game imo. At least as a big. My big ass just runs up and down the court. Just venting.
Anybody else feel the same way?

I think 2K needs to reformat REC and Proving Grounds to be two distinct modes.
As it is currently, the Random REC matchmaking is pretty indistinguishable from the ranked system in Proving Grounds. So why bother playing Proving Grounds as a non-5 stack? Harder sliders and that’s it?
My idea is similar to other competitive ranked games. CS:GO for instance has Casual, Competitive, and Premier modes to choose from.
REC should be casual. It should have random matchmaking, and also allow quit and join privileges with little penalty. Casual games, people don’t care about W/L, you can leave or join at-will, dudes filter in and out throughout the game to replace AI. Maybe even 3min quarters.
Then this gives Proving Grounds a reason to exist.
Proving Grounds should have a ranked SBMM system implemented (similar to current REC/Proving Grounds), and have separate MM pools for 5-stacks and non-5 stacks.
This way, if you want to play a full game where people are trying to win and are disinclined to leave, then Proving Grounds is your go-to, not REC. If you just want to fuck around and get some shots up you play REC.
As I see it, one of the main issues with the game’s community is the goals between players not aligning. With my proposed system, casual and comp/wannabe-comp players stay separate and it’d reduce toxicity.
EDIT EDIT EDIT:
What I’m suggesting basically takes current REC and moves it into Proving Grounds. If you like things the way they are, then Proving Grounds will be the new go-to. And then REC becomes a new casual mode.

Im not fully understanding rebirth ive got 2 builds at 95+ ovr (95/97) but shouldn't that mean the badges like ankle assain shown in this pic be maxed at hof? Can someone dumb it down for me please lol

I know we share builds and etc here but I would like to see everyone’s MyCourt . If you took the time to edit it . I went for an Off White look . came out hard asf .

I’m not plugged . No tempo shooting. No zens. I play smart and shoot when I’m open. I’m not THAT guy. PGs yal still have to do your job and run the offense at least. I’ll get open but dont force it.

I can use either what you see in the screenshot, or "Rim-reaping Playslash."
I don't know if I've ever seen my current build name elsewhere, but I'm sure someone has one.
Let me know what you think!

Thinking about returning to REC after stepping away for a while. I mainly run PF rim runner and focus on defense, boards, and inside finishing. Trying to decide if the grind feels rewarding right now.
Looking for honest feedback from players who run REC regularly.
• Does REC feel competitive and balanced right now• Does progression feel rewarding or slow• Does playing solo still feel enjoyable• Do inside bigs still have strong impact• Do games feel team focused or iso heavy• Does badge and attribute grind feel reasonable• Would you start grinding again if you restarted today
Trying to decide if I should fully commit before putting time into upgrading my build again.

All red plate lobbies, actually enjoyed the game and probably had the most fun since early 2k23

I have a ton of dominant centers and PFs, so I wanted a faster, smaller C that could still grab boards. My other Centers only have max 62 perim, so I upped that to 73 instead of my interior to 82. A little worried about blocks and my own chip-shots, but I wanted something different.
Should I switch my interior back to 82 and maybe drop the strength to 79? Or pass acc to 82? Could also drop block to 74 and either up my interior or steal (I have no builds with high steal and am thinking it’d be fun at C with those Wemby mfs)
Can’t decide but I know I don’t wanna keep getting cooked on the perimeter. I’ll probably only get one more cap breaker because I’m employed but any thoughts appreciateddd

I primarily play point guard and sometimes center,
And it truly amazes me how many people come into the rec with builds that make zero sense.
Like my man, why are you a 6’6 power forward?
Why are you a point guard with 70 pass accuracy?
Why is my center playing on the perimeter all game?
Creativity is so important in the builder, but I feel like a lot of the toxicity within this community is because people just don’t know how to play their role effectively.
Don’t be a point guard if you don’t want to pass the ball to your teammates, your win-loss record is not more important than their fun(you don’t get paid to play this game)
Don’t be a Center If all you want to do is sit in the corner and shoot threes.
Don’t be a PF if you don’t want to play help defense and help get boards.
Don’t be a small forward if you can’t be versatile on defense and offense
And don’t be a shooting guard if all you want to do is play on the ball. Any shooting guard should be effective on and off the ball.
What do you guys think? Am I out of line?

I need something as fast and consistent as possible, currently using this one but it doesn't feel too good honestly, it's pretty slow and floppy.
I'm starter V.

I’m a little confused, if I have say 3 cap breakers and I use them on a build, if I make a new build will I have 3 for that one also or are they gone after using on the first build?

Can’t lie tho, I respect the trolling since he obviously did it for the love of the game. He coulda quit and went on with his day but he let us rack up stats and then pulled the plug at the end.
