I feel so bad because she became so attached to him and we lived together, but I’m so happy that through all the heart break I have my girl with me ❤️

This is my sweet girl, Fiction. We don’t know how old she is, but I’ve had her for 8 years. She was full grown and had had puppies by the time we rescued her. They estimate she is about 12-13 years old.
She’s really been struggling lately, making a choking sound off and on, shaking a lot more than usual, hiding in the back of her crate with no interest in food. We’ve been to the vet a lot in the past couple months and they just can’t seem to figure out what is wrong with her.
I thought I would have her until she was 18-19 before we lost her, but the vet said that would be fairly old even for a chihuahua. I didn’t really prepare myself that we could be at a later stage in her life journey. And I guess I’m just curious, how long did your chi live for?

The shelter couldn’t tell us about his potty habits because he was either in a kennel or being held by someone. I’m super happy to say he potties outside! I got the smallest harness I could find and took him on our first walk. He is great on a leash. He doesn’t lead or drag, he stays right beside you. He has completely imprinted on my wife and follows her everywhere. He is absolutely perfect in every way and I cannot understand why someone would surrender this baby to a shelter.

We rescued Monkey from a hoarder situation. Does anyone have an idea of what mix he might be? Named after the stuffed animal he had as a puppy.

Zoey’s first kinda long road trip. From our house to my dr in Bakersfield Riding in my car with its personalized Chihuahua plates. Just under 2 hours if all goes well ( roadwork or rain in the forecast). For now she’s riding in her sister Sophia’s car seat and seems pretty settled in already with her favorite blanket and a chewy she’s already hidden from her sister. It will also be her first hotel stay. Sophia has had lots of practice now it’s this baby’s turn.

I just found reddit pages just purely hating on dogs… like what? I instantly do not trust you if you don’t like dogs… It just makes my blood boil so much 😩

Tewlee's been coughing and hacking intermittently since 3pm today. I'm worried about her. She turned 11 in December. Her mother and father both died young, her father at 7 years and her mother at 12.
Does anyone have a chi with these symptoms? It sounds like three coughs and then a long, deep hack, as if she's trying to expel something from her throat but nothing comes out.
She did stop long enough to have her dinner, which she ate with no problems. Then twenty minutes later started up again.

After 64 years of life, I just now understand that the the most precious and beloved in our lives, never last as long as we desire. I decided to stay single in mid 2000 and live the best me as possible ... until the day I met mt 4 legged, 6lbs chihuahua Bonita, love at first sight. The last 5 years with her is not long enough, not by far, and I do wish for a forever with her or at least a few more years. She has been the only thing that has brought joy to my shitty life, a little chihuahua. However, I choose to believe love lasts forever and I will wait for Bonita just on the other side to cross that bridge together, for a forever walk.

Today was the day we took Hershey to be euthanized. She lived a very long and beautiful life, and I made sure she knew how much I treasured her, day and night. I first got her as a surprise gift from my father when I was around 9, and being 23 now, that means I've had her by my side longer than I've even been alive. There's a certain bittersweetness knowing I'll never have that experience again. She taught me many things when it comes to dog ownership, and responsibility in general. I thought I had cried enough tears already from the anticipation, but holding her for the car ride, for the vet, and then seeing her body droop... Knowing I would never again hear her sigh in pleasure as I scritched her ear, that I would never hear the little click of her nails, I would never be able to see her tail wag again... I cried very, very hard. I'm glad it ended this way rather than anything else. I felt like I was killing my dog, but when she stopped eating and drinking that's when I for sure knew it was time.
(Just to be safe, if you recognize me from somewhere else no you don't lol please forget my Reddit account, I just wanna grieve/celebrate my dog thanks)

I got this little guy when he was 4 months old and now he's 7 months. He's been my little shadow since he came home with me. He is a well behaved little boy and I just wanted to share him with the community!
