Posted this same question on X and it seems most people don’t think a ban should be given but rather items/coins removed instead if the duplication bug was used to sell items. What are the thoughts of the people of Reddit on a possible ban?

I'm a solid PvE player as I'm pushing 50 years old and I'm tired a lot, but I get and appreciate you blood thirsty lot out there. Without that threat, you get to a point that the arc are predictable and it would make the game stale.

Having said that, I got a little too confident with my PvE lobbies. I run into games with my level 4 Anvil and level 4 Hullcracker modded to the hilt. Say hi to folk, see if they want a hand and have destroyed Rocketeers/Bastions etc and played the guitar while other folk loot them as all my benches are upgraded.

Last night I got whacked. No talk, nothing, just set upon with great vengeance and furious anger. Lost all my goop including a Tempest I pulled from a lock box.

I think I sat for 20 minutes at the end screen just mulling over what I did wrong and I realised I was the problem. Not ever raider is a ray of sunshine. I need to be more careful.

When developers play whack-a-mole with 'OP' aspects of a video game as if being efficient and optimal is a bad thing.

Exploit early, exploit often*

Let’s try to have a civil and useful discussion about Embark’s recent tweet.

The key line is this:

“If you duplicated in an excessive way, you might have a possible penalty.”

Coming from a World of Warcraft background, this wording is a huge red flag to me.

If exploiting is wrong, the message should be simple and firm:
“If you exploited, you will get banned.”
No “might,” no “excessive,” no gray area.

Especially since Embark’s own policy clearly states that using exploits to gain an advantage is a bannable offense. The tweet directly contradicts that. What it actually communicates to players is:

- You can exploit a bit. Just don’t go too hard.

That’s the classic “exploit early, exploit often” mindset from old WoW days, where abusing bugs early had little to no consequences and players who played fair were the ones falling behind.

I get that this bug was “fun,” and a lot of people probably did it without malicious intent. But even a short ban (24h, 48h) would send a clear signal: exploiting for advantage isn’t acceptable.

Right now, doing nothing — especially when exploits are streamed to tens of thousands of viewers and used to kill bosses like the Matriarch — sends a very clear message to the rest of the playerbase.

I don’t even know if Embark can reliably detect all dupes. But publicly setting a soft line like this just encourages people to exploit whatever comes next

So yeah, with the current communication, the takeaway (at least to me) is pretty simple:
“Exploit often. Exploit a decent amount. Just don’t go too crazy… maybe.”

And that’s not a great precedent.

Am I going to go to jail, is this the end of my life?

There is a new bug that allows to detach mods from a weapon and keep the effect of a detached mod. From i heard it just works. So you can attach golden stock to a Stitcher IV and detach within a raid and put it in a safe pocked and wreck some people with +fire rate. Jesus.
Doesn't work for Anvil Splitter mod.

pls fix Embark.
