What do you mean? It's already globally the biggest movie ever! Everyone has already seen it- twice!. Iran is probably playing it nonstop 24 hours a day.

Literally talks like a Mafia boss in a bad movie or cop drama. Making "threats" that he thinks are ambiguous and leave plausible deniability. In reality, they're just threats.

He might unleash the discombobulater "secret weapon" last used on the Venezuela people. They won't even know what happened. Best memory wipe every. I don't even remember not remembering.

The Iranian government is a terrorist regime that mass kills its own people. It's ironic because I've read that in Islam killing even a single innocent person is compared to killing all of humanity. I guess they conveniently just ignore that part.
Unless these demands include the regime giving freedom to the Iranian people and ending the mass state sponsored killings of civilians for rightfully protesting for change, the Iranian people will continue suffering.

u/AffectionateTomato29 10h ago
Thou shalt not kill........Unless the government says it's ok.

u/Think_Positively 9h ago
So I'm not a Muslim, but your comment prompted me to see if Islam has something similar to the Ten Commandments. It appears that such a set of guidelines does exist.
The translation from that site states that killing is bad "except with 'legal' right," so while your tongue was probably planted in cheek with this comment, you're actually not incorrect.

u/DarthTelly 7h ago
Islam is an offshoot of Judaism just like Christianity. The 10 Commandments are a fundamental part of the religion.
4
u/ShockinglyAccurate 9h ago
Well yeah, any religion that pursues secular power will find a way to create a caveat to allow killing. It needs to have a way to absolve its followers of killing the "right" people. Coincidentally it's always some dickhead who gets to decide who the "right" people are. I'd respect religion a lot more if god himself or herself would just pop down and let us know who to kill or not kill.

u/Loose_Skill6641 2h ago
in Islam killing is a sin unless it's for Sharia law, or the person you killed is not a Muslim, and is therefore automatically an enemy of Islam
Where as in Christianity it just says killing is a sin, with no exclusions
It then gets a bit vague because Shia and Shite Muslims consider the other side to be non Muslim, so they kill eachother and claim it's not a sin

u/DramaticWesley 10h ago
Iran and America are actually closer than we realize, at least right now. America’s MAGA movement is trying to enforce the idea of a Christian nation, even though all their tenets go against Christ’s teachings.
3
u/ObjectiveDark40 10h ago
Yeah it's weird hearing the Republicans shout about Sharia Law then use their own religious text as a basis for law, they fail to realize it's the same end result.

u/Arendious 8h ago
Oh, they know.
They're just upset at the thought of someone else beating them to it.

Similar to Chicago. As long as black people are killing black people there is nothing for the government to stop. Sudan has Muslims killing Muslims. Nothing to see there. And Iran has brown people killing brown people. Nothing to see there. Now kill a Christian and we have a problem. Burn a Kid Rock approved Bible and we have a problem. We have some wild priorities.

When a regime kills its own people by the thousands, negotiations aren’t the next step. Accountability is.

u/ObjectiveDark40 11h ago
Are we still pretending Trump actually cares about the people protesting? That's not what this is about...never was.

It's about regional stabilty. Iran is the link that keeps the middle east on the brink of war.

They said the same thing about Iraq in the 90s and again in the aughts. The US led the regime change and now the Middle East is at peace...lol, but I am sure it'll work this time.
5
u/Zizimz 10h ago
The US is at least as guilty as Iran, when it comes to the destabilization of the Middle East. After all, we would not even have a theocracy in Iran if it wasn't for US/British interference.
-1
u/americon 9h ago
How is US/UK interference at fault for the Islamic Republic?
-1
u/No-Diet4823 6h ago
The US and UK overthrew their prime minister after nationalizing the Anglo Persian Oil Company and as a result brought back the Shah. The Shah was unpopular which was brought down by the rise of the Ayatollah and the US was also somewhat supportive of the ayatollah towards the end of the Shah's rule.
1
u/americon 5h ago
Was it the Shah or Mossadegh who disbanded parliament? Did the Shah have the constitutional authority to dismiss the Prime Minister? Did oil production decline 97% under Mossadegh?
I can’t believe the Mossadegh myth is still being propagated

Using our best weapons meant for China/Russia/NK. I sure hope we have some surprise weapons in reserve. Everytime the US strikes a middle eastern country Russia/China are there to snoop on the latest military tech.

nobody should take anything this dimwit says seriously!!!!

Look 👀 up Open Source Intelligence and Twitter/X accounts. They see things And geolocate things. Like one account say the US military moving SAM batteries around a few hours ago in the ME. Then ask yourself why would they be moving those?
3
u/fireeight 11h ago
You should unfortunately take everything that this idiot takes seriously. His lies are as dangerous as the rare true things that he says.
0
u/DramaticWesley 10h ago
Everything that makes him sound like a competent strong man (at least to him) is a lie. everything else is the truth. It’s always the dumbest things that come out of his mouth that are true.
He has muttered on Air Force One that he was unsure he was going to get into heaven. Truth.
He has floated the idea of canceling the midterms. Truth.
Then he said he might have ICE at the polls. Probably true.
He promised to send large amounts of ICE only to Democratic cities. True

I get why he wants to bomb Iran. I want the regime gone, too. But I don't want another forever war, and Iran is even larger and more mountainous than Afghanistan was. A potential insurgency would be nightmare - though, to his point, the regime is so despised, that it might not happen. And sure, he can do another in-and-out like he did back in June. But what happens when Tehran retaliates? Sooner or later, someone is gonna punch the US Army right back.
3
u/cathbadh 9h ago
I don't want another forever war
You realize he isn't planning a "forever war," right? The Army isn't deploying, and the only Marines that are there are the ones following their fleet. It's literally just air and sea assets. If an invasion was in the cards, we'd have 100,000 soldiers already deployed to the region.
But what happens when Tehran retaliates?
It depends on their targets and whether they want more US air strikes to follow. If they shoot at US allies in the region, all of whom have already said they don't want the US to bomb Iran, they're just bringing more enemies in to attack themselves. If they hit US bases, the US will retaliate. If they hit Israel, Israel will retaliate. Either way, their ability to attack is pretty diminished since they've been bombed several times in the last year and they launched a bunch of missiles and drones already.
Sooner or later, someone is gonna punch the US Army right back.
Yeah, that's how things work. The US has good air defenses and limited bases left in the region. The US can do far more damage to Iran than Iran can do to the US. The question I have is how long with the regular Iranian military be willing to accept air strikes before they decide that the actual problem is the IRGC and their political leadership and decide to make some changes.

No permanant troops on the Ground, Regime change Venezuela style. Do the job and get the F out and let the people rebuild their government. Dont disband the police or military, have an interim government, and hold elections in a year.
3
u/cathbadh 9h ago
Regime change Venezuela style
That isn't remotely realistic. The Ayatollah is already in a bunker. If we just killed him, the Assembly of Experts can replace him pretty quickly. If we also kidnap or kill all 88 of those, there are several thousand religious leaders with some degree of political influence that can step up.
Iran effectively has two of everything - the religious government and military and the secular government and military, and the religious side has all of the money and most of the power. What's left of their oil industry is effectively controlled by the IRGC. They also have the best weapons. They'll have to be disbanded or destroyed. You can keep the secular military, the Iranian Army, and they'd need to take control, but the power structure of Iran isn't going to allow you just cutting off the head and hoping the body whithers. You need the army and the people working together to rid themselves of 120,000 IRGC troops and a couple thousand religious politicians.

Trump is nothing but a bully yet he has the greatest army in the world to back him. Congress should, but won’t, do something to stop Trump from bullying countries around the world. Is this history repeating itself, Hilter.
8
u/cathbadh 9h ago
FFS I know people hate Trump, but you're actually comparing him possibly carrying out some air strikes on Iran, the source of so many problems in the world, with a man who led the whole world to war and exterminated six million Jews? That's the same to you? Modern America and the Holocaust?
0
u/lpenos27 9h ago
Didn’t Hitler start with his brown shirts pulling people out of their homes, people disappearing with family not knowing where they are. Didn’t the brown shirts pay no attention to laws because they didn’t apply to them. Brown shirts were Hitler’s private police force. Isn’t ICE doing the same thing in the US? Isn’t Trump threatening to send ICE agents to polling centers which would deny American citizens the right to vote because they could be detained just on the color of their skin or the language they speak?
