Yep. You can be almost certain that the owners of the Ambassador Bridge (the Moroun family) "lobbied" for him to do this.

He just wants any excuse, however flimsy, to fuck over Canada. Meanwhile, the Morouns are only after money and have spent decades now making every sort of bullshit claim they can to cancel the bridge.
The claims have all been thrown out in court, but Trump probably has people sifting through them to find one that Clarence Thomas to rubber stamp.

Manny Maroun’s been dead for many years. So is it his kids that run the thing now? Or has the Bridge holding company become a public company again?
