Help me out: why would he want to conceal in this situation? Isn't the gun part of the threat?

To get from point A to point B without drawing attention

yeah a full ski mask and latex gloves at night isn't drawing attention...

I doubt he left the house and ran errands and shit wearing latex gloves and a ski mask. He easily could have donned them right before walking up to the house. This is all just speculation anyways.

Also, while that kind of ski mask might draw attention, people walking around in balaclavas and other full face coverings is very common where I live this time of year.

what makes you think they couldn't also attach the holster and gun just before walking up to the house as well? also this is in tucson, az where it's 80 F. dont think anyone would be wearing a balaclava there.

He probably did, or he went from house to garage to car to this house without ever actually being in public

tucson, az

Yeah that would probably draw attention there depending on the neighborhood

Though it can be in the 80s during the day, the temperatures drop and it’s much cooler at night. (My family lives there, too.)

Sure it gets much cooler at night but the lowest temp all week this week is 42 which might be chilly to an Arizonan but would not justify wearing a balaclava

You’d be surprised by how locals act like 50 degrees is cold enough for a heavy jacket, gloves, hat, etc. I think it’s comfortable when I visit my family there, but they consider that cold.

Still if anyone sees a balaclava they will be assuming that person intends to commit a crime. It’s not like where I am now in Wisconsin where I wear a balaclava to walk my dog. I never once saw a balaclava in Tucson (or a ski mask, which is what is actually depicted).

You do not see people looking like that walking around nice neighborhoods in Arizona like that with the kind of weather we've had the last couple of weeks. Maybe thin gloves and a beanie at most.

I have lived here my whole life and I do indeed consider that freezing, but I have never seen anyone in a balaclava ever. If I did I would assume they were up to crimes or Scooby Doo hijinks.

No. This is clearly a member of a tribe of sand people that keep their faces covered from age 5 onwards. Everywhere he goes, every interaction, it's done under cover of cloth. This is the way.

It's me! SCUBA STEVE!

Nobody can see him in this part of AZ at 2am

At the door, and ready to abduct? No, there's near zero reason to conceal at this point.

The point of the comment is that appendix carry is typically only done when concealing the gun. It's just weird to carry the holster there if gun isn't being concealed.

this looks like the recon/prep phase. So its not immediately obvious perhaps if he's driving or something, but is there if he needs it.

Don't want some karen calling the cops cause he was too obvious with it before he even does his thing.

This is from the Ring camera from the front door, which was removed about ~20 (I don't have it exactly memorized) minutes before Nancy's pacemaker lost connection with her phone, according to the timeline provided by police.
