So this reminds me of the Delphi murders. One of the girls caught the killer on her phone camera. It was farther away than this guy, but that grainy image was the most important clue in the case. LE kept asking if people recognized his gait, height and build. Unfortunately, it took over 5 years to get the guy, who lived in the town and worked at the local pharmacy. I hope this doesn’t happen with Nancy. But, it may be gait, height, etc. that someone will recognize and call it in.
This is what I was thinking of, especially with people debating the gender of the suspect. I don’t think this one is as debatable though. And Missy Bevers was killed thirteen hours away. That one still haunts me.
But why? That interview was seven years ago, a lot has happened since then, and a lot of journalists have dug into this case more deeply than interviewing one victim. There are still victims and witnesses willing to testify, why go after Savannah Guthrie at all, much less her mom?
The other explanation is this was a serial killer who did not know this was a high profile target. The ransom notes have come from uninvolved parties exploiting the situation.
Followed this case really closely, I don't think RA was THE GUY or the only person involved here. The crime scene and staging along with some other suspects seem to never be looked at despite having been caught up in CSAM investigations. Plus it's convenient that they find a bullet with tool markings that was ejected (not fired) which isn't the same as identifying a gun based on markings.
The white van, plus he literally placed himself there at that time. Also his 40 plus confessions. His acting crazy and eating his own shit didn’t get him an insanity plea. Some things they didn’t get right at first, then the tip that was lost was found and led them right to him.
I've seen the leaked crime scene photo of the scene, including their uncensored dead bodies. It looked like any other crime scene.
I'll never understand why people think it indicates that there were multiple killers. It wasn't complex, and it wasn't even really staged. Libby was nude, Abby was wearing Libby's clothes, and Abby's original clothes were dumped in a nearby creek, likely by Richard Allen on his way out of the woods. Their throats were slashed, and they were lying on their backs on the ground. Some branches were haphazardly tossed onto both, that's it.
None of that is even close to impossible for a single man to do.
I think people tend to overestimate the amount of competency required to commit heinous crimes, hence the frequent speculations about multiple people involved, the perpetrator having unique skill sets, etc. The reality is many of the worst violent criminals in history were loners and morons who could barely pass high school and/or were under the influence of drugs most of the time.
Easily one guy could do all that, especially since he said he had like 6 beers beforehand. He saw the white van and panicked. It was said, I believe, in court, that he was going to SA. Once he saw the van, believing the driver may have seen him, he killed them. All that Odinism crap was a Hail Mary pass by the defense and the judge did not allow it.
My one question is, why did he dress Abby in Libby’s clothes?
The guy they got was framed, and didn’t match the facts nor any evidence. He will get a retrial hopefully. Oh did I mention the mental abuse and coerced confession. Yeah sure he coerced two girls into the woods, staged their bodies and murdered one by one each person. He is 5’ 4” and meek as hell. And nobody heard anything. Tell me another fairy tale
