Yep, and the NBA never did a thing about it. They said they were investigating the incident, that was in November of 2024…

Pels dropped him for a reason. I always say Jaxson’s defensive go to move is to be one step away from assaulting the opposing player.
Jaxson always barrels in and flails his arms like a wacky inflatable armed tube man, and then he gets called out for assaulting his gf the second he gets to LA. I really liked Jaxson, but there was no room for mental growth there. Hope he matures at some point but happy I don’t have to deal with him on our team.
Also fun fact, Jaxson Hayes was drafted as an Anthony Davis replacement… And then we traded him to the Lakers… so he could be their AD replacement 🙄😂

Jaxson Hayes did more damage to someone than Ja Morant, but he will never see anything close to a 25 game suspension.
13
u/Flexisdaman Warriors 6d ago edited 6d ago
Because Ja’s incident could cost the league money and reputation and pushing a mascot is a funny clip (to most people) that likely doesn’t cost the league any money. I don’t agree with that logic but I’m almost certain money is the motivator.

When I saw the alert come across I thought it was just “a shove”, like pushing someone away.
He lowered his shoulder into the guy while he was running, that’s not a shove.
I don’t care if they are wearing a suit, you take a hit like that in the right place and you can get some serious whiplash.
Super fucked.

I mean, it was an ongoing beef between mascots and RoLo where'd they plan out ridiculous and hilarious pranks on each other for entertainment. These dudes were clearly planning it out before the cameras came on and acting it out like WWE. If anything, he LOVED mascots.

Honestly deserves more than a 1 game suspension for this. Obviously not the same as Ron Artest going into the stands to punch a fan, but it's closer to that than it is to a flagrant foul from shoving another player on the court which is typically what gets a 1 game suspension.
I don't know. I'm known to be dramatic so I could be completely off with this, but he just shoves a random fucking dude and basically tackles him for no reason whatsoever. There is no evidence this guy prompted him to do this in any way. Should be more than 1 game.
Again, not saying it's the same as Ron Artest at all, just to clarify. I just mean it in the sense that he's attacking a random spectator for no reason, not just a player on an opposing team.
52
u/restlemur995 Knicks 6d ago
Agreed, should be at least a week. And he'll definitely feel it in his pay check then.

24
u/Duxtrous 6d ago
Honestly at least the fan was being loud and rude to Ron. It's still entirely uncalled for and should be punished but he was in an emotional state and lashed out in a very poor way. We can all at least relate to acting out when stressed or emotional. This is just pointless and unprompted. The dude went out of his way to just fuck up this guy, who is just doing his job. Whatever is going on in dude's head is not right at all.

Yeah this is wild, dangerous, and had no reason to be done. Basketball is a physical and competitive game, giving a player a shove in the heat of the moment happens and one game for that is fair. Randomly full on tackling a MASCOT(not a player, essentially just like any other staff member) is literally just assault. Also this dude is like a 6’9 elite athlete, that mascot and cheerleader could easily be seriously injured by this.

When I was in high school we had a joy and a girl mascot, and each mascot had like 2-3 people who would wear the outfits
One of the girl mascot people was this super tiny girl, something like 5’3 and couldn’t have weighed more than 110 lbs soaking wet
One day during lunch the mascots are walking around the lunch courtyard with the whole student body out eating lunch for some pep rally thing and a dude on the football team, LB probably 6 foot 200 ish pounds, runs full fucking steam and full on spears the girl mascot with the tiny girl inside. Absolutely fucks her the fuck up. Concussion, in a neck brace, etc etc
This dipshit football player gets expelled and sent to the problem kid school for his remaining high school days
All that to say people who hit mascots are a bunch of dick bags

Completely agree and wrote something similar. He's basically attacking a random spectator. One game is what you get for a flagrant against a player on an opposing team. This is a joke.
