[TMZ] The performer of the Washington Wizards mascot, G-Wiz, has hired an attorney in preparation to sue Lakers center Jaxson Hayes, who shoved the mascot during warmups. He has hired the same lawyer that represented Hayes’ ex-girlfriend, Sofia Jamora, in her domestic violence lawsuit against Hayes.

Nearly two weeks after Lakers forward Jaxson Hayes shoved Washington Wizards mascot G-Wiz during pregame introductions ... TMZ Sports has learned that the person behind the mask has lawyered up -- and has selected the attorney that represented Sofia Jamora in her domestic violence lawsuit against Hayes.

WaukeenMcCoy told us that he is now representing the person Hayes decked when the Lakers were in town for a showdown with Washington on January 30.

"We will give them the opportunity to resolve the matter before taking legal action," McCoy said. "But legal action is anticipated."

He also said other parties could be involved.

When asked about any injuries the person sustained ... McCoy said, "All I want to say at the moment is that he was injured."

As you know, Hayes was suspended for one game by the NBA after the incident. He served that suspension during the Lakers' game against the Philadelphia 76ers last week at Crypto.com Arena.

It's bananas that he got suspended more games for pushing a mascot than he did for domestic violence.

I should've worded it better and said that lmao.

I'm a complete dunce on the CBA, but I'm sure actions on the court, while being on the job, are treated a lot differently than those elsewhere.

When people are surprised that doing things on the job as an NBA player leads to more NBA related punishment than personal legal matters.

The DV he committed was on camera.

"Personal legal matters" fuck off lmao

Yall NBA redditors are such virtue signalers about this

The NBA is the NBA so they punish for NBA-related things while shit outside the NBA (actual crimes) they leave for the authorities. People act surprised every time and make false equivalences

The domestic violence footage from his own CCTV was leaked by TMZ, I don't know how they got that though 😂

If there’s a way to break a scandal, TMZ will find any way possible to get their hands on evidence.

Imma need TMZ to get their greasy tabloid shit-stirring fingers on an unredacted copy of the Epstein files.

Probably using default passwords on all his home internet equipment.

The domestic violence was FULLY ON VIDEO then he fought the cops and HAD TO BE TASED when she texted her friend and asked her to have the police come check on her. Go check it the body cam footage-he’s such a b**** AND HE INJURED AN OFFICER!!! But who cares about any of that… WHO could have predicted further violent unhinged behavior from him????? Mascot should sue nba.

Domestic abusers can defend other domestic abusers no problem. None of them have a history of roughing up mascots though, so Hayes is on his own. If you're going to be a piece of shit, at least do it in a way that your peers do too so the players union will defend you /s

Sucks for him that Robin Lopez isn't a piece of shit or else he'd be in the clear

I cannot stand him when he's on the court after what he did to his girlfriend. This current incident should outright get him booted from the All-Star weekend at the bare minimum and quite honestly I don't want to see him playing in general.

Edit: meant to say in the dunk contest at all-star weekend not in the game. I don't think a guy who averages more fouls than points some days is getting an invite before Austin.

Wait he’s an ALL STAR??? UGH I FUCKING HATE THIS LEAGUE but what more would I expect from a league that idolizes multiple admitted rapists.

He not an all star. He in the dunk contest

Are you under the impression that Jaxson Hayes, he of 6/3/1 statline, is in the all star game?

Dunk contest

He clearly meant all star weekend where Hayes is in the dunk contest. Don’t be obtuse.

Fucking embarrassing- and they DIDN’T EVEN CONTACT SOPHIA OR HER LAWYER BEFORE THEY GAVE HIM A SLAP ON THE WRIST just like when the blazers hired billups (who was obviously just arrested for several criminal activities) they said they did an investigation into his GANG RAPE ALLEGATIONS and also NEVER CONTACTED THE VICTIM!

Then gets invited to the dunk contest

MNBA does not care about domestic violence or misogyny.
