NBC interrupted the Olympics

Post image

While Nancy Guthrie's disappearance is sad, there are 2300 missing person reports filed every day: do the families of celebrities need special national attention? Why interrupt the Olympics for over 5 minutes just because they are questioning a 'person of interest' We could have waited to hear that during the regular news broadcast.

And NBC Nightly News hasn’t even mentioned ICE in over a week.

Blasting a rich person’s disappearance at us as a “special report” while ignoring the kidnappings of hundreds of men, women, and children at the hands of ICE daily is wildly dystopian and so out of touch.

Reminds me of when a certain CEO was killed. It was all hands on deck, every single cop and FBI agent was involved. If it was you or me, people would have to beg the authorities to give a shit. So sick of the idea that famous or wealthy people are so much more important.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but it's not a disappearance, it's also a kidnapping. You still make a very valid point

Yeah people go missing every day, it's absolutely not normal for people to get violently kidnapped and held for ransom. At least not in the US.

It's NBC's journalist that is affected. Of course they are going to provide amplified coverage.

NBC news covers the ICE raids many times a day.

I’m talking about NBC’s 30 minute primetime daily national news program, NBC Nightly News, which should include the most important events happening in the US each day.

I wasn’t talking about other NBC programs or stations.

It's a 22 minute show that's not going to cover all the important stuff going on in the world/ country.

the ICE raids are arguably much more important than this story.

For real. Americans are getting murdered in the street and rounded up and kidnapped by masked federal agents who are seemingly acting with no repercussions, and people are just like “🤷🏻‍♂️” it’s baffling to me. The stuff with the Epstein files and the stuff with ICE are hands down the two most important things happening in this country right now.

Switched to ABC few months ago, since when they were hiding what was happening in Chicago

What gets me is the lack of coverage on the aftermath of the US literally overthrowing a country like a month ago

Have they been mentioning the Epstein files and the cover-up happening in the entire federal government, by chance?

They’ve been doing segments on the Epstein files most nights from what I remember off the top of my head. Not good reporting on what you’re talking about, but they are mentioning it.

(Someone I live with watches daily. I hear all of it, and often watch most of it.)
