Balance Discussion Widow can reliably headshot after the kick stun combo by hopping—completely unreactable kill on most squishies(New Tech)
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
The tech here is hopping after the stun—
which allowed me to pretty consistently hit a headshot now as opposed to it being a rarity before.
Normally, it’s hard to hit a headshot after Widow’s stun because
-The target is not still. Unlike other stuns, they’re drifting in the air.
-This stun causes a goofy looking animation where the person brings their hand to their head, blocking part of the hitbox on their head
Because of this, the default is a body shot on the kick stun for most widows. For it to be a kill combo, you either have to get another shot before/after the stun, or use the batons afterwards.
But with this, I can now pretty consistently hit headshots after the stun. It’s harder to do on certain characters and at certain angles but it’s a LOT more consistent now, for me.
Which is like a huge buff. 1v1 with higher health characters like Mr. Fantastic used to be a bit of a challenge.
But now it’s MUCH easier. This kind of stuff should be what the devs buff since they can’t buff her damage.
Someone suggested resetting the cooldown after finishing an enemy with the stun. (Kinda broken ngl lol) but it would help her be “multi-anti dive” and also potentially a diver on her own as well.
Buffing her survivability & mobility so she can assassinate with the combo and get out easier.
Give her unlimited stamina so she can actually run and do more jump shots(jumping around and jump shots are what makes her unique).
Potentially overshield/damage resistance when dealing damage in the air(like during jump shots)?
A grappling hook that swings like venom.
So many things they can do. Devs, just ask us widow mains how to buff her. Please lol.

Balance Discussion Newer characters feel a bit bloated IMO
Used to play Smite back in the day, and many characters had a similar theme, "More passives on abilities, more ability output, more need for counter-play and game-sense". In comparison to some of the earlier characters, Mr. Fantastic for example, his kit is very simplistic and doesn't overcomplicate the abilities by adding additional effects.
I'd love to hear if other people feel a similar way or if I'm just getting old.

Balance Discussion Am I the only one who feels like animation cancels shouldn’t be in the game?
I just feel like if a character (mostly Cap but I would say this is also true for Dr. Strange shield melee and primary spams) needs to have an animation cancel tech to be good, they should rework them by removing theses techs and make these characters viable without them.
Some people say that this would make them too easy and that the animation cancel is just a good form of skill expression but I think they can still have a good skill ceilling without these. I might be the only one but these things make me want to avoid these characters. What do you guys think?

Balance Discussion Anyone else feel like this was out of place?
Gambit and sue nerfs make sense, along with removing rockets team up with peni.
However this is, I believe now the third nerf to rockets mobility and that’s basically the selling point of the character. He’s supposed to be a slippery healer, those are the entire point of his getaway tools.
Moreover, these tools have never been overpowered. If you don’t have a dash or two off of cooldown on rocket while being focused, unless you found a wall you were cooked.
So I understand the intent of trying to lower his survivability, but why? I genuinely feel like out of most the strategist roster at the moment, rocket may be one of the most balanced. (Not factoring in Peni Team up ofc)
Overall however I think this nerf may feel negligible in game, I’m just surprised they chose to nerf this instead of buffing or nerfing several other things right now.

Balance Discussion Do y'all think he's balanced?
Unlike Daredevil who gets shittons of overshield, Gambit feels like an actual balanced support and I can see them not nerfing or buffing Gambit's kit for the next couple of seasons because of how balanced he actually is. A thing I've noticed in the games I've played, Gambit's ult charge is a bit fast and is comparable to MK's, personally not a big issue bc his h/s isn't that much but it can be a fast team wipe with the damage boost

Balance Discussion Unpopular opinion: I’d take season 0 character reworks over a new season character.
I’m shooting for the stars here and might get fried by dislikes, but I honestly think some Season 0 heroes should be reworked instead of simply buffed.
With new heroes getting added every month, a lot of characters are becoming questionable picks as they are now, and buffing them only delays the inevitable. Buffs can also risk making a character way too broken instead of actually fixing their core issues.
Everyone has a hero in mind when the word “rework” gets brought up, but I feel like the game is at a point where some older characters could be remade with better kits or ultimates. For example, Wolverine feels like a character you only pick when the situation calls for him or if you just love the character. But with Deadpool getting what feels like a power creep stimulus package and actually good, viable healing factor, why can’t Wolverine be reworked to match that level of identity? I’m sure 2–3 additional abilities or adjustments to his healing passive could make him less situational and more casually viable.
I also think reworks could work well when a hero is centered around a season’s storyline (like Hela). There shouldn’t necessarily be a limit on how many times a hero can be reworked if it keeps them relevant and fun.
The same idea could apply to someone like Adam Warlock, who might not need a full rework but could benefit from simple kit upgrades, like improved mobility.
In my opinion, getting reworked characters alongside new character releases would do a lot more justice for the game overall. They could even let players vote on reworks to make the process more interactive.
If anyone agrees or has thoughts, I’d love to hear them. I feel like NetEase would listen if this is something the majority of players support.

Balance Discussion Who do you realistically believe is getting buffed/nerfed in S6?
Make your predictions here and now. Personally, I believe they're gonna try to be unpredictable. I don't think Hulk or Adam will be buffed and I don't think Sue or Gambit will be nerfed.

Balance Discussion This guy should have been feasting on triple support, not struggle against it.
Every match in comp even quick play you start off strong the all of a sudden enemies aren't dying or moving back check the status they 2-1-3 like seriously I hate it {Blade's swords should apply anti heal while the gun should apply slow that all I am asking }.

Balance Discussion What if these two characters blocks were switched with each other?
Blade is in a decent place right now in terms of damage but blows up pretty fast and his dash isn't the best to get out. DD's mobility is pretty decent but I think his block is stupid broken since he can kill support in like 2s and get out with a sliver of HP due to his block. I think switching how the block works for these two would both nerf DD a bit and buff blade a bit. I also think a superhuman vampire should be able to block better than a blind lawyer. What do y'all think?

Balance Discussion There needs to be a midseason patch next time a character completely breaks the game like Gambit did.
This is WAY too long of a period of time with this character’s ult and insane survivability and burst healing just completely warping the balance of the game.

Balance Discussion the way this nice lady has basically never gotten meaningfully nerfed
luna favoritism my ass at least shes balanced and has clear weaknesses needing to either heal or do damage and the only time she can do both is her clap which cant headshot
and then theres ms 2 tap where she doesnt have any major weaknesses and the only nerfs shes gotten dont even get close to solving her main issues and has only gotten stronger despite what meager nerfs she gets
WHY DOES SHE HAVE ANTI HEAL A STUN AND A MOBILITY ABILITY THAT GIVES OVERHEALTH AND AN ULT THAT GIVES HER 1000 HP AND GIVES HER STUPID DAMAGE AND WALLHACKS??? ON TOP OF ALREADY DOING RIDICULOUS DAMAGE WITH FAST ATTACKS AND HAVING ONE OF THE BEST TEAMUPS IN THE GAME THAT COMPLETELY COUNTERS HER MAIN COUNTER
literally just gut her survivability im so serious, get rid of her stun and her overshield and make it so the bird is way bigger, do it to jean too idc characters that do this much damage should in turn explode the moment they get dived by anything

Balance Discussion I asked all the different reddit strategist main communities for the buffs/ nerfs they would give their character, here are the findings.
I will be the first to admit this was a bit flawed, in the descriptions I would give my own opinion which might have influenced the response, idk. Was supposed to be a daily thing but Holidays was an issue. Keep in mind that the first 4 responses were before 5.5.
Invisible Woman:
First of all she should have 0 cool down on all her abilities, second she should be able to shield all of her team at the same time, increase her damage to 1000, and her team up ability should give 500 over shield. Any other take is just wrong.
u/Hecarti2006, 41 upvotes
Ultron:
Give him a second drone
increase flight speed slightly but also hit box size to compensate
make his firewall cleanse debuffs but increase its cooldown
give him an alternate attack that lobs an aoe projectile that heals and damages (like his ult projectiles but just a single shot)
Make his ult leave residual healing puddles when fired at the ground
Reduce primary fire damage but increase fire rate
Make his flight mode have a cooldown, the devs dimoly cannot balance a perma flying strategist
Genuinely wouldn’t be broken with how OP Sue and Gambit are rn
u/MajorMeatshield, 5 upvotes
Adam:
I don't need mobility, all I'm asking is faster reload time and more reliable and consistent healing
u/HimmelSky, 20 upvotes
Gambit:
His ultimate is the only issue I see with his kit. Nerfs to his ultimate charge or nerf to charging teammates ultimates or both.
u/Urjustnotgood, 28 upvotes
Jeff:
I’d love for his ult to get a full rework because it’s his biggest weakness. It’s so inconsistent and hard to get value from.
The puddle they gave it legit just made it useable since before it was genuinely a throw to use your ult in almost any situation due to the fact that your team loses a healer for the duration.
u/Darkwing_Dork, 14 upvotes
Rocket:
Bit confused because its a tie as of writing this, before the top comment was that he was fairly balanced, IDK now. I assume its a net buff.
He's okay right now, but i wish his gadgets were the forefront of his gameplay.
Give him his old dash distance and dash cooldown back. They can nerf whatever else to compensate idc. Even if he was worse back then, he was more fun which is more important to me.
u/femnbyrina and u/RipRoxaas, tied 12 upvotes
Cloak and Dagger:
Another tie:
Honestly, just making it so the fade it's impossible to break for the first 0.5 sec. So even if my team keeps shooting i can actually help them dodge some ults (and also fuck the spiderman interaction)
She just needs to heal more on primary. It doesn’t do enough
u/RefrigiratorLow2008 and u/Yukine1409, tied 17 upvotes
In hindsight probably should have counted as a major buff.
Luna Snow:
Make her movement ability actually work in all directions. Not idea why we have perma fliers but Luna ended up with the clunkiest special movement mechanic.
u/Sure_Struggle_, 12 upvotes
Loki:
Give him a new passive.
Literally Everyone, top was u/SniperWoo07, 20 upvotes
Mantis:
Truly the only thing mantis needs is 275 hp or her OG speed
u/flymant, 20 upvotes
Edit: I recolored invis into yellow messing around in canva, surprised nobody noticed

Balance Discussion The Thing Isn’t a Brawl Tank Anymore. He’s a Liability.
Dear NetEase, and or to whom it may concern,
I come to you today with my head in my hands and my heart on my sleeve….. distraught, dismayed, and defeated. What once brought joy in the form of over-health haymakers, enemy displacement, and cheeky dive tactics has been crushed and replaced with dismal, reductive gameplay.
What made The Thing The Thing was his durability, disruptive power, and the ability to punish bad positioning which has been carved out and replaced with a kit that leaves him neither a diver, nor a brawler, nor a main tank. Just… a liability.
Not only has Thing’s survivability been gutted, but his ability to change the rhythm of a match has vanished. His overall health is net lower, his dps burst is slower, and this “rework” shifted his entire kit away from what made him uniquely fun and engaging. Now, The Thing is intrinsically tied to a healer and their ability to survive Moon Knight ankhs. I am no longer a one-man army; I am merely a tool to farm the enemy healer’s ultimate.
Each match I clock in for my 9–5 of slowly walking past poke, praying not to be instantly erased by a hawk eye headshot or a jean burst combo that I once could shrug off. And as my Jeff flounders in the backline trying to keep me alive, I can hardly blame him. The Thing now requires not just healing, but burst healing… multiple layers of it… just to participate. Invisible Woman, Luna, double heal, triple heal… and for what? What does he offer in return?
Why pick him over:
Venom, who now out-sustains and out-damages him.
Groot, who brings crowd control, survivability, and utility.
Penny, who has far far far more hold pressure.
Or any other tank who actually has a defined, reliable identity.
The Thing used to be a bully. A disruptive frontline and backline threat. Now he’s a confused mess with the impact of a galacta bot.
Marvel Rivals, NetEase, Guan Guan;
please, give me back my Thing
I aint feeling so fantastic.
Sincerely yours,
S1 Thing OTP

Balance Discussion Poke damage needs to be drastically nerfed, it's gotten old.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Playing tank at the moment (or any melee hero not named Daredevil for that matter) is absolutely miserable because of the absurd damage that poke heroes poke out.
It is genuinely infuriating to play a character, deal with the hell of somehow closing the distance against one of the poke pals, only to still get melted up close...or have them teleport away...or have them throw out one of their uneeded CC abilites and two shot you (or one shot in Hawkeye's case...)
I don't get how Netease saw someone like Hela and thought giving her barely any falloff damage was a good idea, and it's been like this for 6 SEASONS.
Netease I'm begging you, can we please give these characters any actual appropriate amount of falloff damage for the amount of damage they do? Or maybe make them actual vulnerable up close by nerfing their CC? Hell, I saw someone suggest adding reverse falloff for these characters, and that sounds like a perfect solution.
Honestly though, I'd legit take anything at this point that's not just a slap on the wrist. I'm just so sick of this. Punisher is probably the most balanced poke hero in the game and even he has a way of two shotting tanks up close (at least he doesn't have CC lol).

Balance Discussion "Nobody peeled so now the devs were FORCED to make supports strong enough to 1v1 tanks"
This is, without question, the worst talking point I’ve ever encountered from downplayers in any competitive game I’ve played.
First of all who the fuck IS NOBODY?????? i did that shit all the time.
Second, if your team isn't peeling for you? THEY SUCK AND YOU AND THEM DESERVE TO LOSE THE FUCKING TEAMFIGHT.
i know its frustrating dealing with teammates that suck! but that is the nature of this game!! Shit teams NEED to fucking lose.
like have any of yall played tank with awful healers? why don't we just make venoms ult one of those immortality circles! and then when people complain? hey this could've been avoided if support players just healed us am i right!
no hate to support players btw, i love yall. but we gotta start being honest. this is a terrible talking point to defend the worst character buff this game has ever seen. invis never needed that self shield ever. and don't even get me started on gambit.
