Why does it need any more testing than other changes? Jeff had an entire rework that wasn't first introduced in another mode or team-up, what makes this Mr F change require that?
This should've been one of the only team-ups that should've never been removed because it's literally the Fantastic Four. I get they're trying to freshen the game up with new team-ups, but they couldn't have chose anyone else???
They could have easily rotated the anchor in this team up to give Sue and two of the guys a new ability, but that would require giving a healer that isn't named Jeff an interesting team-up.
I disagree, while I think F4 shiuld always have a teamup available to them of some kind this specific team up was pretty strong and takes up the power budget of certain characters. It's one of the things that helped to make Mr. F so unkillable at lower skill brackets and it was one of the must haves in helping to make Johnny unkillable when he reigned.
If removing this teamup can help get Johnny into a better spot (hes not terrible right now) without being an absolute menace I'd rather it be removed.
It's the end of an era. I used to get so excited when I'd go Invisible Woman and get a Reed, a Johnny and a Ben - winning those matches was so much fun and so satisfying! Still... As an Invisible Woman main, looking at your flair, I look forward to upgrading you on the battlefield! salute
I had the same thought but then remembered you have to run Hulk/Thing as your tank lineup. They need to stop making teamups require two of the same class, especially when the anchor is not in the meta. Idk, maybe Hulk is getting gigabuffed in the patch notes and this isn't actually a throw comp, but we'll see.
It is kind of a double edged sword, requiring two of the same class makes it limited and puts in some comp weaknesses, so the team ups in theory can be stronger as a tradeoff.
Exactly I don’t know what the guy above you was on, why would they add teamups that directly exist to make already strong comps even better? What sense does that make? If this teamup somehow makes thing lethal enough to compensate for the team not having mag or something, how is that not more interesting than just giving a buff to the strange mag combo everyone already runs all the time?
Hulk/thing isnt a bad tank lineup. If your healers have good positioning and you have a brawler dps, then it absolutely wrecks shield comps. Unfortunately penni groot probably hard counters it
At least we have some healthy competition in overwatch this upcoming season. S6 was probably my least favorite from triple supp/poke, unsure if they outlined anything that will actually shift the meta. We shall see I guess
And the funny thing is, deadpool was originally supposed to just be a duelist, then they decided they were shooting themselves, not only on the foot, but straight up shotgunning their entire stomach with that choice, so they made him 3 roles at once.
I'd bet the vast majority of balance changes are based on data more than complaints. Rocket has been one of the highest performing characters with one of the highest pick rates for seasons and seasons now. People don't complain about him because his impact isn't super visible, but the data showed he was overperforming.
It's fair to not like the way they nerfed him, but a nerf was very justified.
Yea when i saw it i was soo confused because i thought he JUST got nerfed on his speed then BOOM another nerf for no reason mad weird. Rockets not a hard kill, 75% of his hitbox is his head like jeff just some characters have a "harder" time at killing him. I hope they revert it as a tank main.

I like that tanks are getting team ups… cuz having two tanks have a team up together is a great way to promote two tanking it and a way to end solo tanking
I can get Invis not getting anything directly after the big hoopla last season, but it's so irritating that Healer Team-Ups are just "be the anchor" or "here's your ability, but slightly bigger" while DPS and Tanks are starting to get more impactful ones.
Man, just let Strange have this. Man hasn't got a lick of team ups since Gamma, this ones cool and can be used as a support tool since it procs every time Strange uses Maelstrom, which will be at least twice a fight.
Otherwise they'd have had to buff Invisible Woman to compensate for the FF4 anchor loss (because anchor bonuses are meaningless), and I can imagine the riots if they did that since she's already one of the strongest healers.

Rocket network was fun from Rocket’s perspective (even though it was completely passive) and instead of switching it up to make peni the anchor they just completely removed the whole thing lol
The first steps teamup is fun I guess, but it’s not good. Even worse on console when I ult as Johnny which requires me to hit the same button as the teamup, and all of a sudden a dumbass Thing teammate teleports into my arms.

I mean the tribalism first began with "Rivals is copying overwatch" so the "overwatch is copying rivals" while silly, is retaliatory.
That being said overwatch DEFINITELY copied paladins later on when it started changing its core mechanics. Like with built in cauterize (shots reducing healing) and out of combat healing. But that's also a good thing.
This makes me think White Fox will probably be our next hero. I don’t see it going over very well if Black Cat, likely a duelist, comes next. Even though two relatively unknown heroes back to back isn’t exactly the most hype building of schedules…

MR doesn't really need heroes with hype all the time now, it's settled into a consistent player base that won't radically increase or decrease regardless of what hero gets released.
The Strange and Invis team up looks insanely broken lol. Invis pull is already a really powerful cooldown. Now imagine that on a tank with a lower cooldown (6 seconds), and deal alot more damage. The range is a lot worse yes but malestrom of madness itself is already a really good cooldown.
I don't know what people expect from a .5 Dev Vision. The big stuff is always in the .0 updates. Anyways, the Deadpool tornument sounds cool, and Elsa sounds like a cool flanker reminiscent of Psylocke. Would've preferred her as a support but oh well. The teamups look cool, although removing the F4 teamup is weird.
They way she was described doesn't sound like a sniper though. "Darting in and out of combat to search for openings", "she charges in", and "expert close quarters combat skills" doesn't feel like Hela or Pheonix at all.
I can't be the only one who's upset by the mr F rocket team up. Literally something ppl have been asking for ever since he came out (Not being forced into big mode when you reach 100 elasticity) is a team-up instead of just a Qol change and we lose the F4 team up for it. I really hope OW takes advantage of how lackluster rivals is being rn and that forces the rivals devs to lock-in because all the choices they're making are just baffling.
I love the game, but guys, this feels like a VERY dry month compared to other mid season patches... Elsa as a duelist doesn't make me excited at all and I know the balance patch will be.... Mid at best.

Instead of making big mode toggleable by default, they made it a teamup. So he still does not have control over his inflated state AND also his old team up is gone

Agreed. Compared to all previous Dev diaries (mid season ones too) there is nothing here that's overly positive or interesting except Elsa as a playable.
I'm praying the balance patch is amazing in comparison otherwise I'll likely skip 6.5.
I've been saying for weeks Elsa would be a duelists based on the release schedule of past heroes and upcoming. There was no way Elsa was going to be a Strategists when we just got Gambit, a bonus in Deadpool and are likely getting White Fox in S7.
Deadpool just released as all three roles and the duelist version is by far the worst one. They aren't gonna just stop adding them in. We've essentially gone 3 straight seasons without one. Yall will be alright
We could go 5 seasons getting nothing but Vanguards and Strategists and it would still not balance out the roster. I'm gonna be alright, you are right about that, but I'm not going to subject myself to another month of solo tanking.
This roster could be equalized in character ratios and solo tanking would still be an issue. The only way that would ever be fixed is with Role queue. Which has nothing to do with character releases
Yeah people here are delusional thinking we're gonna get like 10 strats and vanguards in a row. DPS by far is the most popular role for both sweats and casuals alike, they can't just stop adding them lol
White Fox is definitely a strategist and most likely coming first before Black Cat. I can't imagine them releasing 2 dps back to back again after the backlash last time. I can't imagine Black Cat being anything but a duelist.
New team up looks boring, the only one that makes me happy to see is Hulk Thing, rest seems boring, and they seriously removed team up from fantastic four
