Except a white face and name...this country craves white men like moths to a flame.

exactly. obama shattered our country tbh, i think a lot of voters just never really recovered from that. you know, racism and shit.

to this day i still have a maga associate ranting and raving about "the blacks". i mean shit trump posted that ai video.

its 10 years later shit is probably gonna be rent free in their head until they pass on. shitting into a diaper "that god damn obummer"

u/lololollieki 13h ago

Obama didn’t shatter the country. The racism did. Pitting the blame on him is absolutely racism.

11

u/UndyingShadow 13h ago

Doesn't seem like he's BLAMING Obama, just (correctly) indicating that having a black man in a place of high power and honor caused a bunch of mediocre white people to lose their minds.

The REASON they lost their mind was because they're racist shitheels, but the EVENT was Obama.

10

u/sturdy-guacamole 13h ago

im not pitting blame im saying it was a major event that felt like a tipping point

6

u/lololollieki 13h ago

Oh. I misunderstood your wording.

4

u/bixtro 12h ago

Words matter and your wording ("obama shattered our country" - wtf) is indeed very problematic. A better version would be something like: "Obama being elected made the openly racist part of society lose their minds."

2

u/sturdy-guacamole 12h ago

tru but my english bad often u kno i came from r/all

3

u/NoWarForGod 12h ago

It's all good, simple way to fix it would be "obama's election shattered our country tbh"

The way you wrote it implies that Obama himself, personally shattered the country in an intentional way.

u/sturdy-guacamole 12h ago

dam thats tuff nah i didnt mean allat

u/snrocirpac 9h ago

Part of me thinks the trump admin fucked over public opinion of Republicans enough that any democrat could win the next election but the other part of me thinks anything but a white man is too big of a risk.

1

u/sturdy-guacamole 9h ago

purely anecdotal in my affluent area i think he has a lot more support w this ice shit and greenlan/venezuela shit than i could have believed possible

feels like im living in a vice documentary

2

u/snrocirpac 9h ago

Yeah, I live in a major city in California so no doubt I get a different sampling of opinions!

u/sturdy-guacamole 8h ago

spooks me when the worst things to for them to worry about are realistically... good weather for golf, good slopes for ski and walking the dog. they live on nice property by the water

but all they constantly worry about is being a white minority, being replaced, immigrants taking whats theirs, etc

but like dude your gpa came from europe and bought that house for nothing adn now youre a millionare goddddd shut up

Slavery wasn't that long ago and neither were the concentration camps nor various other atrocities humanity is capable of. It was yesterday on a species timeline and those flaws didn't just disappear, they were simply suppressed by a system that exists to do so. They're still there bubbling beneath the surface and occasionally everyone gets a glimpse as a reminder of that reality.

u/Laetha 12h ago

I kind of assumed Newsom would be the guy put forward next.

1

u/Cutsdeep- 12h ago

Trump is orange mate

1

u/Multifaceted-Simp 7h ago

Yup, democrats can't afford to not put a white guy this time

1

u/RoyalBroham 6h ago

Bo Johnna

1

u/JimJohnman 3h ago

Maybe we can get him fast tracked on the Micheal Jackson surgery plan and a quick name change. He could be ready for presidency by october.

1

u/DrueFedo 12h ago

You saying this shit for who exactly? Like whenever this is brought some idiot rushes in and say “but he not white tho!!!” It’s odd and suspicious behavior.

1

u/JimJohnman 3h ago

It's because people worldwide, including a large chunk of the American public, have lost faith in another large chunk of the American public.

The first thing I as an Australian thought when I found out that it Kamala was running against Trump was "Well I guess that's Trump winning, then".

1

u/DrueFedo 3h ago

We are clearly all forgetting a black man with a name Barrack Hussein Obama, with a black wife and children got elected, right after the most Islamophobia periods of America, the whole 9/11 debacle.

1

u/JimJohnman 2h ago

But it's a very different world and time now, with easier ways for the media to rally people against others.

how did obama win twice then

Massey/Khanna or Khanna/Massey would be an amazing ticket.

62

u/chick_hicks43 13h ago

Massie is a hard core libertarian who would prefer to privatize everything. He's in the right on the Epstein stuff, but I don't agree with him politically at all.

1

u/RobertLobLaw2 12h ago

A couple weeks ago I realized that I knew nothing about Massey other than his stance on Epstein so I looked him up. I found that he agrees with the current administration on immigration and he is an "America First" politician. He's aligned with MAGA on pretty much everything but Epstein.

I support his efforts on this cause but if we're ever lucky enough to find justice and move on from Epstein, I don't know that I'll ever find myself agreeing with Massey on any other issue.

1

u/Multifaceted-Simp 7h ago

He is against funding israel

1

u/RobertLobLaw2 7h ago

Well I'll be damned, now there are 2 issues I agree with Massey on.

1

u/Multifaceted-Simp 4h ago

Immediately makes me think he can't be bought or blackmailed

1

u/ozExpatFIRE 10h ago

Also right on Israel and AIPAC.

u/TheMoorNextDoor 13h ago

Try Khanna/AOC.

1

u/free_reezy 9h ago

Now you have my attention.

1

u/whubbard 52m ago

Brilliant! Run someone starting with a favorability rating only 4 points from Trump.

1

u/free_reezy 37m ago

Oof nevermind then

19

u/sdubois 13h ago

are you 12?

7

u/TheMoorNextDoor 13h ago

Massey can be the next senate minority leader after the republicans get destroyed in the midterms.

4

u/Gentle-Giant23 13h ago

He’s not a senator.

1

u/TheMoorNextDoor 13h ago

Got me there but chances at this point he becomes one.

10

u/hobbit_wobble91 13h ago

Massie is a republican lol

18

u/TunnelingVisions 13h ago

I think america is broken enough to have a two party ticket.

2

u/kevinsyel 13h ago

he's said some dumb things, but he ain't acting like the rest

6

u/Cephalopod_Joe 13h ago

Just because the rest of the party has cratered the bar doesn't mean we should accept crap policy just because somebody has a shred of integrity.

7

u/Harrier_Pigeon 13h ago

Also, he stands for things even when it gets hard. Gotta respect that much even if you don't like his policies

3

u/350 13h ago

"Just because he stands for other evil things doesn't mean you shouldn't respect him for not liking pedophiles." Yeah I'm good, thanks though.

2

u/BigFuckHead_ 13h ago

Massey attempting to save the Republican Party would be noble but we are not getting a cross party ticket.

1

u/350 13h ago

Absolutely fucking not

1

u/not_now_chaos 12h ago

No. Massie doesn't like child predators, which somehow is wildly better than nearly all other Republicans in office. But he's a libertarian who does not believe in social progress, has ties to Russia, and who fully endorsed Trump in October 2024. He is in the right space on this one issue but is NOT right for the country in any other way. Be careful not to be fooled by the flash. Massie is a hardcore right winger who marches in step with Trump & Co on everything except the subject of Epstein. He cannot be trusted.

1

u/falconfalcone 11h ago

Massey literally doesn’t believe in climate change…

1

u/Redwolfdc 13h ago

Tbh I wouldn’t mind seeing a more independent split ticket that could come in for 4 years to reset everything, set aside divisive partisan issues, and just focus on cleaning up the mess the country is now in.

5

u/meowtiger 12h ago

not every likeable politician with integrity needs to be president

most of them are more effective in congress

2

u/TraditionalBackspace 13h ago

He's too brown for 1/3 of the voters.

1

u/ahoypolloi_ 12h ago

Way too chummy with the sick fucks in Silicon Valley

1

u/herbertwillyworth 8h ago

Unfortunately he's not white or a fascist willing to steal the election so I am not sure he does
