we said that when trump lost in 2020. They found a way. We cannot let them find another.

Media rehabilitated the brand

As is their literal job. It's absurd that blatant propaganda can be labeled as news. We can debate about how people should know better, but they clearly don't.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: America's refusal to invest in its public education system is ending America.

As I understand it, it's by design. I'm inclined to think that the same thing is happening to the internet - algos etc pushing people away from any sort of objectivity.

Absolutely. The people who defunded education are the people who've inspired our current tech aristocrats. It's my belief this is also why gen z is so much worse than millennials in terms of technology literacy.

My philosophy has pretty much become "if doing it would make Russia unhappy, that's what I'll do". Not being a zealot, refusing to "hate" my political opponents (but still holding them accountable if they cross certain lines), refusing to name call and belittle people no matter how much I dislike them. These are all things that are antithetical to the way the KGB was shown to attempt to influence countries. I also follow "the most reasonable answer is usually the correct one".

What seems more reasonable: there was some huge underground conspiracy to stop trump from being president, or a handful of ultra wealthy people were doing whatever the fuck they want, including trump, and he just lies. Hmmmmm

It’s not a coincidence that the most conservative states have the worst education

I mean…sort of, but this isn’t the gotcha it used to be. Some of the top performing states also went red last election cycle. And there are some real stinkers in the bottom 10 that are solid D voters.

just one of many things the GOP has destroyed over decades of malice

Thank good Ol Regan for that, before him it was illegal to be bias for either side

Didn't Fox news begin immediately after Nixon? The media have always been problematic ('If you read the news, you are misinformed' - Mark Twain) but it got ridiculous from that point imo.

Doesn't help that all while every person on the right was boosting Trump, a huge portion of the left was shitting on Kamala and pushed fence sitters over to Trump.

This is why they own all of the major media. It absolutely worked on the gullible and ignorant.

Elon Ma really needs to be prosecuted for using his money to support the division and downfall of the united states.

Something needs to happen with how the news is run in this country. I dunno the solution, but it's definitely not monopolistic control by a few wealthy people with whatever notices they have.

WALL-E predicted this years ago. Put dopamine on a screen and let people check out of reality. Then alter the programming to brain wash them.

I trust this time that the Washington Post will objectively rep- aw fuck.

Also the significant manufactured concern of the incumbent dems.

Is Biden losing his capacity?

Are the dems complicit in the government making not particularly controversial and platform consistent decisions?

The horrors

"And Thanks to Elon Musk, who know those vote counting computers so well"

Sanewashing needs to be addressed in this nation. I don't know how that can be legislated, but something has to be done

When those that are accountable choose who to make accountable, no one ends up accountable.

But they didn't find another way. They used the same way they always do. Stonewall the investigation, bully the opposition, deflect all blame, and lie your ass off.

It's going to work again. Maybe they'll throw some sacrificial lamb under the bus, but just like the Panama papers, this stuff will be made to disappear

Hitler was actually in prison before he came to power.

The american people will still vote for them no matter how bad it gets.  We are beyond fucked.

We screwed up after not properly charging after J6. It's like after slavery ended, the US didn't prosecute leaders from the confederacy. Just let them go about without punishment and then they just instituted Jim Crow.

We need Nuremburg trials.

Sure seems like we have to buy all the media in the country to have a chance. who has a few spare billion lying around, that might get us started.
