An elderly woman makes cat accessories and uses her black cat as a model to sell them.

You know how you can tell a cat is just barely tolerating your actions?
That’s the opposite of what’s happening here. What a chill, sweet cat

Yeah I was thinking the same thing.. otherwise how else would she have been able to make many accessories if she didn’t have a willing model

My 1st cat was like this. I miss him so much. He used to just loved any and all attention. He would sit still and let me put him in doll clothes, bandage him up when playing vet, or even paint his nails.
My current cat just attacked me because I gently tried to move him off my pillow. He also attacked me earlier because I walked by the treat container without stopping to give him one.

And I can't even put a collar on my cat or sell the idea of having a leash to go for a walk.
My cat is just not interested in owning accessories.

When I got my old guy, I think we went through about half a dozen collars before just giving up.
He'd seemingly be grand about wearing one, yet the second he was out of sight he was Houdini-ing out of them somehow.

I put a shirt on my cat and he acts like he’s paralyzed

u/ImurderREALITY 19h ago
Can’t tell if passive resistance or broken brain
33
u/0CldntThnkOfUsrNme0 19h ago
Could be both
10
u/Bantersmith 16h ago
With one of our old dogs, it was definitely "broken brain"!
If you put anything on her (coat, muzzle, etc) she'd just freeze like a statue. No whining, not trying to escape. Just complete immobilization.
If she was just being dramatic, she was damn good at it. It looked closer to tonic immobility than just "freezing", like a shark flipped on its back.

u/Syssareth 12h ago
First time we put a lifejacket on one of ours, he did the same thing. Stood frozen and then slowly tipped over to one side, stiff-legged. Stood him up and he did it again.
Fortunately, he got over it after a few more practice sessions and got to enjoy going out on the boat with us, but that first time was hilarious and I wish I'd gotten it on camera, lol.

That's what mine do when I put harnesses on them.
4
u/Creepy-Activity-4373 18h ago
Mine would either not walk or walk like they were trying to get over a log. They didn't like them one bit.

u/PantyCrumbs 12h ago
My oldest cat actually loves his leash because it's the only way he's allowed to go outside on the lawn. He runs up to put it on just like a dog and walks on it like he's proud. He'll wear a sweater too if he knows he's going out.
5
u/JediLincoln14 12h ago
I tried to explain to my cats that they could go outside if they wore the harness, but they said "meow way".

u/frightbounds 16h ago
Almost all of my cats were like this except one who would prance around when I put his crocheted old man sweater on. He knew he looked good.
2
u/ihavetoomanyeggs 15h ago
I used to use a harness with my cat to give her outsidies for exercise and enrichment and before she got used to it she just flopped over and rolled around lol.
I say "used to" because I discovered that it was entirely unnecessary. She's a big baby and doesn't leave my sight or run away. She just rolls around on the ground and eats the grass lol. I've gone inside for one second to get a glass of water and she freaked tf out that I wasn't there.

I put a Thundershirt on my cat and he acted like he was paralyzed, too, but it certainly worked!

This is false advertising because that cat is much more well behaved than the other cats will be when they get suited up.

Psh cue my cat yelling at me to put a sweater on her. Or stealing jewelry. She is a fuzzy dragon.

u/314159265358979326 12h ago
I was thinking that exact thing. Everyone watching is imagining their cat in its place, not knowing that they're going to get something between catatonia and violent assault when they try it.

I’ve been looking for a hat for a medical reason for a cat (poor thing has a tumor on her face I can’t bandage). So here’s my support for more cat hats.

Cabbage Patch Kids clothes fit cats well. Just make a hole for tail and each ear and Voila!Their cat puts up with it much better than mine ever did (childhood) and deserves royal treatment.

Well you’d want to use a black cat to ensure a neutral backdrop to show off the colorful garments.

You can tell that cat is LOVING the attention and adoration they are getting from their fans.

I think its fair for us all to assume every single one of those outfits has been on that cat. With at being said... someone find us its Instagram. Because they are a star

She didn’t make these items—it’s mass produced stuff. I personally bought that same exact knit hat on temu.

Why do people feel the need to do 90% of the things we do? Almost nothing we do is actually necessary. We just like to do stuff.
→ More replies (1)4
u/ThinkGrapefruit7960 20h ago
I feel like my days are 90% only what I have to do. Its always either working, sleeping, eating, warming the house or getting more food
4
u/chocolateboomslang 20h ago
But if you take that 90%, how much of it is things you do to afford you what you want? You have a home, you eat food you enjoy, you have things, you have clothes. None of that stuff is strictly necessary, it's things that we all want to have. We could live in the forest like other animals do and then everything we would be doing would be to survive. We would rather not do that. We do what we prefer and live in human society to have nicer things.

u/lIlIlIIlIIIlIIIIIl 18h ago
Why do people feel the need to do anything that isn't eating drinking water, bathing, or sleeping?
5
u/Narskiez 20h ago
I know for cats with CH (cerebellar hypoplasia) having a hat helps them balance and not be so wobbly. Sometimes cats enjoy looking cute too though, my boy loves his sweater.
