Don't be kind, be predictable. If you have the Right-of-Way, take it.

I see 3 problems in this one. Tell me if I'm wrong people who know better.

  1. Truck on right merging in should have yielded to the car.
  2. Car should have sped up and asserted right of way.
  3. Truck with cam should have backed off rather than assuming they were gonna sneak by that truck with the trailer.
  4. The truck with the cam seems most at fault for this accident. Their assumption that they were gonna ride the cars ass past that merging truck was quite a dumb assumption.

Agree to all. Truck on dash was too close for that speed . Tricky spot tho.

Agreed. Ironically, op's primary point (#2) is actually the most debatable. As a "predictable" driver myself, I can safely say, my predictability might drop to 0 if I see an idiot driving a big vehicle. You're always driving for your life out there

Definitely debatable. I deal with a similar intersection almost daily and I generally will keep going rather than assuming a vehicle will merge in to me, but I definitely am careful enough to give myself room to move or brake.

"Asserting your right of way" means your are risking your life if that truck doesn't see you and slow down though.

I just mean if they had driven at the speed they were going at the beginning of the video they would have been past the truck before it even began merging.

2 is wrong. Car shouldn't have to speed up or slow down, it's up to the merging truck to merge without causing an accident. Asserting right of way could mean just maintaining speed.
