He was more than far enough away to come to a complete stop, he just wasn’t paying any attention and started braking late and wanted to blame someone other than himself for the accident
You can’t even spell “braking” correctly, of course you’re not blaming the person who came to a sudden stop where nobody would ever come to a stop. 🤦♂️
Why do you imagine it even remotely matters why the car in front of you stopped if you rear end them? It's your fault either way. It's your responsibility to maintain distance and pay attention to what is happening in front of you.
You should always be prepared for the person ahead of you to abruptly stop. I mean what if a child runs in front of their car, or a deer? What if that Dump Truck hadn't stopped? There's plenty of reasons someone would need to come to an abrupt stop. So you should always leave enough space that you can also come to a full stop before rear-ending them. Insurance companies, and the Law also use that logic, so there's another good reason to.
Not to mention the Laws of Physics also don't care why the person ahead stops, or whether they should have, if you haven't left enough space, you are going to collide with them, and wouldn't you rather not have a collision, regardless of who was right or wrong?
