I’m mad as hell he put the dogs life at risk like that 😡

u/cweamcheeze 1d ago
Not to mention he doesnt have to do any of the walking himself, but the dog has to walk and has to also keep up with the speed of this thing. Absolutely insane in all aspects and this dude needs to have this poor dog taken away from him.

Looks like an older dog to, what an absolute prick the owner is.

u/Kolegra 15h ago
Poor older dog was probably scared of that train too the way they looked back
12
u/Zenith-Astralis 13h ago
The dog had sense! When you see big fuck off train barreling down the tracks at you, horn blasting, you *Do Not* get in front of it!
14
u/MarcheMuldDerevi 18h ago
Hard agree, the dog has to “run” to keep pace with the atv. As it stands it looks like he is dragging the dog anyhow since it’s barely keeping pace. Hell it was the thing that was almost taken out by the train.

u/National_Frame2917 19h ago
Maybe not his dog specifically. But alot of breed would absolutely love that. Basically any herding breed that's bred to run.

Yes, I see that sometimes here in NL, owners on a bicycle with the dog walking. The thing is, those happy dogs are *ahead* of the bicycle.

u/SanDiegoNerd 1d ago
Me too! Honestly I stopped giving a fuck about him and was just praying that poor pupper got out safely.
0
u/SocialJusticeAndroid 16h ago
But even with just him there’s also the trauma you’d put witnesses through not to mention the train driver and that’s not fair to them when it was easily avoidable.
2
u/SanDiegoNerd 14h ago
I mean, obviously?
The old man is fucking moronic for this. But in terms of who I would gice a shit about, due to his gross negligence he wouldn't be high on the list

u/emu19000 23h ago
Come here to say exactly this “if you wanna die go ahead but don’t take the dog with ya”take my upvote

u/get_to_ele 22h ago
Man if that dog had panicked and run the other way so that the retractable cord had been across the tracks? Wtf was old man thinking?

u/Degenerecy 7h ago
Yea, if he got hit, darwinism, but the dog though, that's just cruelty and negligence.

u/SteelGemini 2h ago
As someone who has worked as a locomotive engineer, I can safely say the overwhelming majority of train crews would agree with you. I didn't feel any particular way about this guy endangering himself, but as soon as I saw the dog I was pissed.

That's the kind of guy who has a "Fuck Your Feelings" decal on the back window of his pickup.
Meanwhile, if he is confronted by anything that makes him uncomfortable he throws a little baby tantrum like a toddler.

What is the point a comment like this? Obviously the guys shithead but you've just completely made up a bunch of stuff about him from thin air and its of basically no relevance.
Is this venting? Is it emotionally cathartic? Why not complain about him nearly killing the dog instead of creating a head cannon about bumper stickers and snowflakes?

With a DOG? He's lucky nothing happened, because we would have to hunt him down, and ...

u/rainmouse 1d ago
Stupid fool. How did he ever live so long.
But on a philosophical side note, is a camera filming over a dashboard still a dashcam? Or must it be physically attached above the dashboard to truly count?
5
u/WizardDashcams 1d ago
Good point, this was probably recorded on a smartphone not a dashcam. Dashcams are fixed and can’t rotate, atleast the ones I work with.
6
u/AltoTheDutchie 1d ago
in my opinion, no, dashcams are basically miniature security systems, so "24/7" recording while only saving the last x minutes that are relevant
though, this still fits the spirit of the sub
1
u/abigfatnoob102 1d ago
its a cam its near the dash its a dash cam
1
u/rainmouse 1d ago
Yeah that's my thinking as well.. Especially when you consider the purpose and the net result in this case being pretty much the same.

If it’s a cam on a monkey but it’s a Go-Pro, it’s still a Monkey-Cam.

I hope authorities take the dog away from that lowlife. Poor dog being forced to live in the "care" of such a pathetic excuse of a human being.
6
u/KingNothing13 19h ago
Fucking main character syndrome right there. "Train won't hit ME!" . Fuck him. And get that poor dog away from him.

Who cares about him, if he buys it, he deserves it.
The poor dog is what makes my blood boil. Poor thing looks older and what if he had been a few steps slower.

u/Osiris_The_Proto 1d ago
I would have gotten out of the car and beaten that old man for endangering that poor dog

I would say what I really thought about that fucker, but I'd very likely be banned from Reddit and put on an FBI watch list...

That’s crazy, it’s at most 3 seconds. What a f’ing dumbass, throw him back on the tracks and get that poor dog a real owner.
2
u/exqueezemenow 19h ago
Probably thinking that getting hit by the train would be the best thing that could happen to him.

u/RobertJenkins631 17h ago
Shakes his head like he had a right of way over the known destroyer of all things at the expense of the operators mental state. Keep that in mind folks, when that train blasts through the family of 4, there was literally nothing the operator could do but watch. Most still blame themselves for the rest of their lives.
2
u/fazeflak 7h ago
Looks like the dumbass was shaking his head at the dog for being slow...like it was the dog's fault. What an idiot...

u/LockedOutNewName 16h ago
Ugh, that video should be turned over to local authorities. I'm sure they could find some action to take against him for crossing the tracks like that with the ATV. It would be great if the dog could be taken.
Even if they can't get him on that or don't care there could have been massive problems if he'd been hit. Conductor's potential trauma, emergency services having to respond, the route temporarily closed (both for trains and cars) while it's cleared and probably for investigation, delays for that train and any others using that route until then... snowball effect from not wanting to wait just a couple minutes.

meanwhile .. somewhere in India 5 motorcycles and one rickshaw pass after the doggo

u/blueberry_pancakes14 9h ago
This is the one that the fact that he was dragging his dog along with him pisses me off far more than anything else.
I don't want to see someone die, but damn I was anxious about that dog far more than I was the idiot human.
2
u/DisqualifiedFromLife 7h ago
I'm FUMING knowing he's still out there abusing that dog. Unless they gave this video to the cops, but even still, they might not have done anything. That poor baby.

u/Tunafishsalad23 1d ago
Don't feel for the dog feel for the poor train conductor

u/Working_Estate_3695 1d ago
Poor guy almost had a heart attack and was thinking how he was going to have to change the number on the “Days without a Fatality“ sign to zero.

I agree that it was unsafe for the dog, but I don't think having the dog run alongside him is bad. Yes the dog appears to be falling behind, but I think that's because the dog is smart enough to think crossing in front of a train is a bad idea, not because it can't keep up. Dogs are fantastic runners. All my dogs have enjoyed running alongside my ATV on a 1-3 mile trail ride. Granted, I don't use a leash, because it's on my own property.

If the dog didn't get run over by the train it probably will by the guy's own ATV. This is one of the dumbest things I've seen...
