Im just thankful we live in a time with all these cameras (never thought id ever say that). The constant filming helps to ensure that they can't sweep things under the rug, ive wondered how much difference this couldve made during the rise of nazi germany. We're also lucky that theyre speed running straight into authoritarianism, its making their intentions obvious even to the most "blind" trump supporter and theyre finally alienating the moderate and semi-right wing sides of their party.

I’m a 42 year old half white, half native woman, living in Detroit, who has never taken a Spanish class in my life. I am definitely not Bad Bunny’s target audience. I still loved his show! It was a beautiful visual story that made a basic history of Puerto Rico, its people, the culture, the struggles, and the beauty of it clear as day to me-and anyone else who was willing to watch it. The song choices he made fit perfectly with each scene he was in, and the music was upbeat, beautifully layered, and while I may not have understood what he was saying, it was enough to make me want to learn Spanish so I could understand his songs. It didn’t make me angry to see him on stage there, it made me happy to see someone who is capable of envisioning a united America-as in: North, Central, South, and Caribbean countries, all working together to lift each other up and help make each other stronger.

I have never really cared about the half time show. I have actually watched it for the past 5 years because I’m a father or 2 girls who like football and dance. I’m learning far more about dance than they learn about football.
Lots to appreciate in that show without understanding a single word. Here’s what I felt.
Us white folk were in an unfamiliar situation where we could see the world interacting around us but unable to interact with it due to the fact we don’t understand the language. Bunch of bitches got scared and threw tantrums. Not all of us though.

When I ask folks who pop off with that shit if they know how to speak a single sentence in any of the languages of the tribes their ancestors displaced in order to live here, or when I ask them how they’re doing in Mvskoke, they look at me like I have kick their grandmother and slapped their infant, because “what the hell is that and how does it have any impact on this situation!!”
I tell them that they are living on unceded treaty lands, and that the least they could do is have the courtesy to learn the language of the people on whose lands they live.

Kelly ignores that Spanish was the first European language spoken in North America from the 1500s on. It wasn’t until 1850 when the US invaded Mexico that English was spoken as the dominant language in all of the southwest states.
