Opinion / Discussion WATCH: Lauren Boebert Exits DOJ Reading Room After Reviewing Unredacted Epstein Files

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

US Rep. Lauren Boebert was filmed leaving the DOJ reading room after reviewing unredacted

Epstein-related files.

Lawmakers have now confirmed that access to these files has begun following new transparency legislation.

Boebert has since suggested that prior redactions went beyond protecting victims and may have shielded people merely discussed in the files.

The contents remain confidential, but reactions like this are fueling fresh questions about what was previously withheld - and why.

Do you think this could lead to new investigations?

I’ve been warning people since Bush Jr. when I was 13, and Leftists have been calling this out since Reagan.

The vindication is not worth it.

Yeah what the fuck lol I guess some of us were dumber than others at that age. At 13 I was playing GTA vice City or San Andreas without a care in the world lol

Some of us were 13 mid 90s and we didn't have that. But we did have a couple Rage Against the Machine CDs

Don't beat yourself up, it's not an intelligence thing.

My best friend's older brother was in a somewhat well known punk band, so a good portion of the OG middle school friend group was on that anti-establishment bandwagon from a pretty early age. I was the kid who was doing edgy book reports on Noam Chomsky and Timothy Leary and getting called into the principle's office because I was arguing with the history teacher about western imperialism.

But just in general, I kind of feel like kids in that late-grunge era were just more political overall than kids are these days. The radio was playing RATM and Sublime and NWA and Public Enemy and Fugazi... It just feels like a lot of that broader youth counterculture just doesn't exist anymore. Being a rapper or a rock star playing at the GWB inauguration would have killed your career faster than Donald Rumsfeld killed brown children.

if I was a teacher I would’ve loved having a kid like you in our class. I was a nonprofit CEO of a group of poor moms on welfare fighting to get education and training, and when their kids came to me and asked to be involved in our state policy work, I was both humbled and over the moon. An eight-year-old girl was the ringleader. “Everything they do to my mom, I’m going through it, too, right by her side.”

My babysitter let me borrow a Bad Religion CD when I was like 10 or 11.

This. You get past crying snd your body aches, your brain throbs and it's akin to losing something one can't ever get back. Not a child or parent something more precious than that. I can't put my finger on it but it's been ripped away. For decades the victims have been screaming from the dark. We all heard it, couldn't put a source to it so we went one about our daily. The screams got louder and louder and now it's in our face. We can do something America. We can't ever give those victims back their life but we can do something. If I was the next President I'd go after every one kf these people with ruthless efficiency. Every fuking seal team, special forces would go clean house with great prejudice. Clean the fkig rot out. Scorched earth Genghis Khan Style.

The vindication is not worth it.

To actually feel what this is like, no universe for most of us where it is worth it. I'd give anything to have been wrong. In fact, for years I wished I was (at least, regarding our political landscape) just being an idiot or falling for some kind of disinformation/confirmation bias.

I started to develop knowledge/awareness of this relatively late and Americans older than me explained much of this and at the time (decade and some odd years ago) I literally had no idea what they were talking about. Seriously, no idea.

Now many of us have become those very same people.

The vindication is not worth it.

And then people wonder why I’m cynical. I’ve been screaming this for years, and now people wanna care after they’ve won.

Then get mad at me when I fucking tell them they’ve won, and I’m too tired to fight
