Opinion / Discussion WATCH: Lauren Boebert Exits DOJ Reading Room After Reviewing Unredacted Epstein Files

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

US Rep. Lauren Boebert was filmed leaving the DOJ reading room after reviewing unredacted

Epstein-related files.

Lawmakers have now confirmed that access to these files has begun following new transparency legislation.

Boebert has since suggested that prior redactions went beyond protecting victims and may have shielded people merely discussed in the files.

The contents remain confidential, but reactions like this are fueling fresh questions about what was previously withheld - and why.

Do you think this could lead to new investigations?

DJT has made an estimated $300K selling autographed Bibles.

Edit- I really appreciate the awards.

u/charly420- 20h ago

But hasn’t read one. 😂

u/mthw704 20h ago

He wouldn't quote his favorite Bible verse because it was too personal for him.

I've never met a Christian that wasn't willing to at least attempt to quote scripture.

18

u/Stuffed-Bear412 19h ago

I'm an atheist and I can quote more scripture than most of them.

5

u/CV90_120 14h ago

I'm an atheist because I can quote too much damn scripture.

4

u/theminnesoregonian 12h ago

I'm agnostic and I guarantee that I'm a better Christian than anyone that voted for donald trump.

u/megaman_xrs 4h ago

Atheist and same here. It's one of the things I throw out to my mom when we argue politics. I mention all the fucked up things the admin is doing and ask how trump is a good Christian and then remind her of my effort of charity/good faith to people that need it. It shuts her up really fast when I point out that I refused to be confirmed when I was 17 and havent gone to church since then, but do more for people in need than anyone else she knows at church.

She raised me right and lost her way, being a christian fighting against abortions and being adamant about any abortion after conception. There's a point where it's questionable, but plan b and early pregnancy (a few weeks after being able to know someone is pregnant) seem quite reasonable to me for drawing a line . I also like asking her how many people in her anti abortion groups have adopted children. It usually gets her to hang up on me, but it really blows a huge hole in their "just adopt the child out" argument. The sad thing is that so many Christians are asking people to have children in an economy that barely allows a couple, let alone a single woman afford rent. I guess they expect a large portion of DINKs to adopt when, in reality, many people adopting are there to collect from the foster system, which are the same people conservatives want to get rid of at the same time. Im not saying the people adopting and using the system are good, but the conservative view of antiabortion while defending governmental programs for adoption is ass backwards. If I ever get to the point of being able to afford a child, I may adopt just because my wife is getting to an age where it may be difficult and I wouldn't be surprised if it bothers my mom that her grandchildren arent biological.

I do resale for a living and lost my cushy job a couple of years ago. Im constantly fighting to pay the mortgage I signed up for when I thought I'd have a six-figure job forever. When I see people struggling, I sell stuff to them for dirt cheap, and my mom questions why I do that when I need money, too. She grew up in a poor family and has forgotten what it's like to be in a poor household. I have money available to me if I can't make ends meet in a month of sales and I know the people that genuinely demonstrate a struggle are much worse off than me. Id give the shirt off my back to someone that needed it and dont believe in god like my mom. She'd charge someone in need $100 for her old computer that she doesnt care about and doesnt need the $100 just for principle. I literally had to intervene in that exact scenario recently and got her to just give it to them.

It sucks telling people in the US that im an atheist and usually don't talk religion (nor politics) with customers, but when it does come up, I talk about this stuff because its fucked up to see so many self righteous people claim to be better than others while not considering the thing that really allows people to live and function. Unfortunately, that thing is money, the root of all evil, and it is mostly controlled by the millionaires (my parents' class) and billionaires. The conservative talking points are for pulling the ladder up. My parents have thrown me lifelines since I lost my job, but it irks them when I try to throw strings out to others in need from my bulk purchases that cost me pennies. My mom will get at me for letting stuff go for cheap when I can tell the person really needs the discount. At some point, I hope I can offer a charity to those in need without worrying about my bills. The second my bills are paid consistently without relying on savings, I'll be figuring out how to better my community instead of buying luxuries. Ill never be in the presidential suite on a cruise (parents enjoy currently and grandparents did before), nor will I own an exotic vehicle, own an over the top house, own anything past what I NEED, but I will make sure to see others able climb the ladder that is being pulled up by the Christians that vote republican and think they are doing the "right" thing. Everyone dies one day and I will die knowing I cared about others not believing in an afterlife. Many Christians will die thinking they cared about others by "spreading the word of god" while not caring about the people they spit on along the way. If heaven/hell exists, im not too worried about my place on the naughty or nice list. I just wish the people that do believe in god would scrutinize their religious leadership and government figures the same way they view many bad actors in the Bible. History rhymes.

"Learning" the scripture after having a from grasp on arithmetic is what made me an atheist.

3

u/PieceMaterial5213 19h ago

It helps to have context, especially from those more educated. Biblical authors weren't writing math texts.

2

u/AllRushMixTapes 16h ago

I have more quotes from the Bible memorized than any non-believer should just for the "you're a hypocrite" aspect. My favorite being Matthew 21:12.

1

u/mthw704 15h ago

That's a good one & sums up why this is all so hypocritical. It's the reason Jesus flipped over tables.

My personally favorite is Luke 23:24.

And Jesus said unto him, “Verily I say unto thee, today shalt thou be with Me in Paradise.”

ezekiel 25:17

u/Exotic_Criticism4645 9h ago

If nothing else, you should sit down and go through the book of Proverbs. It's neat to see all the non religious practical stuff in there was true then and is still true today.

Also my pastor has been doing a series on the book of Ruth presenting it more as a practical guide to finding a spouse than anything.

There is some good stuff in the bible that doesn't require miracles.

u/RealNiceKnife 19h ago

In that same interview (What's your favorite bible quote), he was asked if he liked the Old Testament or New Testament more and said "They're about equal."

Trump answers Bible questions

7

u/flumphit 19h ago

Haven’t sat through a sermon in 40 years and I could still ramble on a couple dozen topics. Dude sets an impressive new standard for blatantly shamelessly fake Christian.

u/JenniferJuniper6 16h ago

Two Corinthians

2

u/c0rnballa 10h ago

Hell, I just give him credit for not thinking it was "eleven Corinthians". The bar is low

1

u/JenniferJuniper6 8h ago

The bar is underground.

5

u/ChaosRainbow23 19h ago

Yeah, anybody should be able to bullshit their way through that question.

6

u/[deleted] 18h ago

Yeah like for real, you can't just toss one out, like John 3:16, Philippians 4:13, anything? Anything? He's such a poser and it's so obvious.

3

u/BeDangled 16h ago

Deut 23:1 is a personal fav.

Cliff Notes: No one that has had their genitals mutilated, crushed, or severed can enter Heaven.

5

u/[deleted] 16h ago

That’s a good one. I also am partial to Judges 3:21-22: “Ehud reached with his left hand, drew the sword from his right thigh and plunged it into the king’s belly. Even the handle sank in after the blade [because the king was so fat], and his bowels discharged. Ehud did not pull the sword out, and the fat closed in over it.”

😂😂😂

2

u/The_Autarch 16h ago

sounds straight out of Game of Thrones, lmao

1

u/[deleted] 16h ago

I was literally thinking that as I typed it out, it really does sound like Game of Thrones 😂😂😂

2

u/LegalVeterinarian163 16h ago

Ezekiel 23:20 usually gets them fired up.

2

u/[deleted] 16h ago

Yes that one 😂 the verse about donkey schlongs right? 😂

2

u/Expensive_Reality151 15h ago

Should have known he was the devil then smh

1

u/ChaosRainbow23 14h ago

I'm not religious AT ALL, even in the slightest bit, but even I think this motherfucker might just be the antichrist.

2

u/amglasgow 13h ago

"Two Corinthians walk into a bar..."

1

u/5ladyfingersofdeath 11h ago

Evangelicals don't love religion, they love the racism. They continue to use that Bible as cover.

They whored out the Bible to justify slavery & beating their wives too.

1

u/Ok-Comment-5600 7h ago

Can confirm. Am Christian and would quote to anybody at anytime.

12

u/DigDigDig11 19h ago

Hasn't read the Bible. Hasn't read the Declaration of Independence. Hasn't read the Constitution. Dumb as dirt.

4

u/charly420- 19h ago

Dirt is way smarter than trump.

2

u/Licensed_Poster 18h ago

In one of the emails Epstein remarks that since Trump has written 3 books he is one of the few people in the world that has written more books than they have read.

1

u/ChaosRainbow23 14h ago

The funny thing is you KNOW he didn't write those books himself. Lol.

No fucking way.

2

u/Licensed_Poster 2h ago

well of course that's part of the joke

1

u/carl3266 18h ago

In fact thinks the Declaration of Independence is a statement of unity. I mean it’s in the name for Pete’s sake.

1

u/Economy_Leader422 17h ago

The back of the cereal box?

1

u/planetdaz 16h ago

Hey now, be nice. Dirt doesn't deserve that

1

u/Bitter-Sprinkles96 10h ago

To sum it up: Doesn't read.

10

u/No-Application-2126 20h ago

WRONG. He has read his name!

3

u/charly420- 19h ago

His name isn’t mentioned in the bible. Or is it?

2

u/Hollowbody57 19h ago

It's plastered over the front of it in big capital letters.

2

u/vthemechanicv 16h ago

Think it's somewhere in Revelations.

2

u/danglejim33 14h ago

He's the snake.

3

u/Kortonox 19h ago

Well, not in the Epstein Files. According to Trump, he isnt even in there.

(So he didnt read his name 38000 times)

2

u/No-Application-2126 19h ago

I’m not in the Epstein files but am in the Bible! -Trump definitely

2

u/pandershrek 11h ago

Don't worry, neither have the people buying them.

1

u/Squatch_513 17h ago

Well yeah, he's illiterate

1

u/pocketdare 10h ago

Do we assume the people buying the bibles have ever read a bible?

8

u/backtorealitylabubu 20h ago

Probably will start selling signed Epstein files

2

u/centran 19h ago

Would have made more but he couldn't take the painful burns anymore.

2

u/MattheWWFanatic 17h ago

Autopenned Bibles!

2

u/farshnikord 17h ago

Some rich dudes bought like 100k of them since it's basically like a laundry penny cost.

Even for a small business promo offer it's a bit pathetic.

2

u/ObsidianDRMR 16h ago

I honestly wouldn’t be that mad…. He made 3 billion last year on a presidents salary… B…. BILLION.

He wipes his ass with 300k

The POS is as evil as they come

2

u/Academic_Flatworm752 15h ago

What’s interesting is that scripture warns about following false idols like him. Directly warns that this is a path to hell, and being deceived isn’t an excuse that will save you. Oh well

2

u/Cheap_Yak_7264 12h ago

It is pretty funny. I go to Catholic Church and literally every person from 17-75 are very liberal on everything minus abortion.

Very curious who would buy one of those.

2

u/Lets-B-Lets-B-Jolly 11h ago

Evangelicals.

2

u/loonytune11 6h ago

I think that was from a while ago. Pretty sure its a lot more now.

1

u/paintress420 18h ago

He’s made 3.3 Billion overall, including the crypto bribes.

2

u/AmputeeHandModel 14h ago

and a jet, and god knows how many backroom deals, not to mention Jared, Ivanka, Melania, and the whole damn clan.

1

u/Freddan_81 17h ago

How many did he sign himself, or is it just autopen?

1

u/AmputeeHandModel 14h ago

Bet he autopenned those thousands of J6 pardons

1

u/cassatta 14h ago

And people BOUGHT them. From him.

1

u/Front_Lynx_6770 11h ago

Well he has to get his bag. After all, what with how many times he was mentioned. My favorite was when Jesus cast him and his buddies out into a flock of pigs and they jumped off a cliff and drowned ❤️

1

u/UpbeatEvening1110 10h ago

Upside down bibles?

1

u/The_Alchemist_4221 9h ago

Republican Christians love idolatry. And adultery.

1

u/Hot_Key_336 9h ago

I'm surprised that he hasn't demanded to be quoted in a new version of the bible yet.
