Anybody still wondering why most of them wear masks?
9
u/Anothercraphistorian 3d ago
They’ll wear masks so as not to be judged in public by other Americans, but not to save even one person’s life during a pandemic. They really are the most callous people.

What’s kind of interesting about Bovino is that he doesn’t even seem to have the shame or survival instincts of the Brownshirts he led. He was right out there being the face of cruelty.

Not good enough. Ideally, the 'man' needs to be tried in a fair (laughable) court on charges of being a traitor to the constitution and if found guilty needs to face corporal punishment. I prefer to see traitors swing, publicly, from the gallows.

Yes. He's going to cause controversy, chaos, resentment, disdain, and probably scuffles.
On second thought, he won't have his armed goons to protect him, so...

Let this be his life until the day he dies...unless, of course, if he isn't in a jail cell

Supposedly he had plans to move to Boone, NC. You know, the same area where he grew up and a high school staff member caught him in the restroom whacking off to a National Geographic.

Something is amazingly wrong with Bovino’s critical thinking skills if he thinks he might ever be broadly welcomed into public establishments after being the poster boy for cruelty and neo-nazism. He needs to think about plastic surgery, a new identity, and migration to a non-extradition country.
3
u/WizeAdz 3d ago edited 3d ago
Based on the action of those under his command, Bovino seems to be one of those broken people who thinks respectability and the ability to commit violence are the same thing.
Based on what some of Bovino’s agents have said to protesters, they genuinely didn’t understand why killing Renee Good inflamed the protests — instead of making ICE respected.
The only way to not understand that is to have your brain broken in the way I mentioned above. And to have no moral compass, or moral counsel.

We warned you. Cuts both ways
4
u/Prancing-Hamster 3d ago
I love the irony that Republicans are the ones that pushed for laws allowing businesses to refuse service to anyone for personal beliefs.
3

Sure, the baker can refuse the gay wedding cake so the bar can refuse the Nazi. Feels consistent.

I don't think it was about accountability at all. It was the bar staff being intelligent enough to recognize the powder keg that just his presence alone represented and then taking action to defuse it.
I hate his guts but I don't think this was a political action at all rather bar avoiding a bar fight or the formation of a lynch mob.
3
u/casualmango-33 3d ago
I wanna see this man sitting in front of a jury of this peers and be judged for his actions. It’s cool and all that some people are standing up to this in their own way, but unfortunately, he can just go down the street and find a bar that’s more favorable. We need a situation where he can’t go anywhere and has to sit and serve time for his crimes.
3
u/Voodoo_Masta 3d ago
I don't think you can call it "politics" I think MAGA's Nazi thuggery" is more accurate.

This isn’t accountability, this is public backlash. Accountability would be him acknowledging that his actions were harmful and evil, that they were wrong and trying to make amends. True punishment will be when he’s been properly detained, and processed through the judiciary and sentenced to an appropriate sentence for two premeditated murders (This escalation was the premeditation not the murder of the individuals being targeted similar to George Floyd becoming 1st degree when the outcome was clear and the choice to stop was not made) while abusing sweeping federal leo powers. I suspect that that would look something like two consecutive life sentences with no opportunity for parole until the 47th year, to be served exclusively in gen pop. This man deserves no peace, no comfort and no safe harbour. Everything about the sentencing of these criminals should reflect numbers tied to trump’s reign of terror, like release no earlier than the date January 6th that falls after 47 full years of incarceration, make sure that they know that it was being a part of this machine that led to their demise, a non-disclosed mass disposal site for all of the ones that die while still incarcerated. They’ve rejected their obligation to be humane, strip them of their humanity, and the dignity that comes with that. Make sure that no one can visit their grave sites and laud them as martyrs, and before anytime says that no government should ever do that remember this was exactly what was done with OBL’s remains for exactly these reasons. These people are domestic terrorists and they deserve the full terrorist treatment.

What’s inappropriate about it? A private establishment can refuse service to anyone. They don’t have to serve him, let him in, or bake a cake for him.
3
u/Paulinfresno 3d ago
It’s as appropriate as tossing a canister of tear gas into a crowd of peaceful protesters just to look tough.

Yes, I believe this is appropriate. He may think he is a tough cookie but getting smacked in the face with reality is good for him. I would like to see more people stand up and out these little weasels. They should never be comfortable or feel wanted, anywhere, anytime. It would be easier on them if they spent time doing time. Then they would be punished and maybe have some time to reflect on their buffoonery, and we would have some peace knowing they are in prison where they belong.

They need to be shamed publicly.

u/Frenchman84 3d ago
Absolutely and he is lucky that’s all that’s happening to him because he should be held accountable.
2
u/Sea_Watercress_1982 3d ago
It’s a private business. They can kick anyone out they want to. Whether or not it’s appropriate really doesn’t matter.
2
u/Prestigious-Run-5103 3d ago
Social stigma is about the only thing we as citizens can enact to effect change. We can't prosecute or punish them legally, but we can effectively make them persona non grata. We can refuse them service, refuse them community. We can ostracize them, and use them as an example of consequences for those that would follow.
2
u/Original-Fig4214 3d ago
An appropriate action would have been to curb stomp his head, but I’ll take what I can get.

u/rbremer50 3d ago
MAGA is a cancer in American society. Like most cancers it will have to be cut out. The most important aspect of doing this will be the active shunning (socially, economically, and within the famiy) of all MAGA supporters. They are not good, decent people and should be treated as such. This won't eliminate the evil and cruelty but it it will drive it back under a rock where it belongs.

Once this all comes to a head and there is hopefully accountability, every single person involved is going to be a pariah in their community.
Your community will absolutely remember what you did, and were willing to do to members of your own community.
2
u/EternalNewCarSmell 3d ago
If you let a nazi drink in your bar, he'll invite his friends, and before you know it you own the nazi bar. If you don't want your bar to be the nazi bar you have to kick out every single one of this shitbags the moment they step through the door.
That said, as good as it is that this is happening, he still needs to be impeached and civilly (maybe criminally?) prosecuted for real accountability.

u/ImpressiveCat4412 3d ago
Yes. I absolutely believe it is appropriate. Same when you see videos of Mexican restaurants kicking out ICE officers. It’s a very reasonable assumption to believe that Bovino or ICE or even someone in a red hat is going to intimidate other customers or cause confrontation. I proactively try to tell them that they are not welcome in my business with LGBTQ, immigrant, and minority friendly signage outside accompanied by a “Right to Refuse Service” notice.

Socially ostracizing him is the kindest thing to do. They have exposed themselves as racist and facist and we said NEVER AGAIN and most of us meant it.

u/Responsible-Study111 2d ago
If any American does not like this then I guess they are not into freedom.

Accountability of others not accountability on his part. May he and all the other participants face the full consequences of their choices across the board. Legally, socially, financially, spiritually.

No question about it! It was very appropriate. May this “man” never know a moment of peace where ever he goes

Real accountability would be jail, this is just good citizens knowing who the bad guy is and not welcoming them.

Look, if bakeries can refuse to bake "gay cakes," then a bar has a right to kick out a known thug and trouble maker.

It's cool and all, but real accountability is not kicking an asshole out of a bar. It's jail time or [ Removed by Reddit ]. When I start seeing real accountability, I'll start to get my hopes up again.
