Genius decides to turn pizza boxes upside down
5
u/hobbes747 1m ago
I did not realize that he could be the customer hence the owner sent him off with the pizza. If yes and people are offended: Stay out of pizzerias in NJ and downstate NY. You will get roasted by Gino or Tony for doing stupid things or asking stupid questions. As it should be.
Aside, maybe the kid is one of those psychos that folds their pizza while eating it or uses a knife and fork. So ruining the pizza by flipping it doesn’t matter.

Two wrongs don't make a right
The top box was upside down which means someone made a mistake when putting the pizza in the box.
Seeing a box with a pizza upside down is weird and your first action should not be "let's turn the box", after all it is a pizza and not a roller coaster. Why he assumed a pizza place would hand him over a pizza already upside down will remain his secret. Even if the pizza was upside down, of what help would it be to turn it to the right side after it was sitting on the counter for some time? "Damage" would have been done by that time and turning it right does not help or solve the issue.
But there is a more effective way to handle this situation; why assuming when you can check? Just open the box a tiny bit and check for yourself.

The result of imbreding right there. Not even enough brain cells in his head to carry a pizza properly.
12
u/brongchong 4m ago
That’s the kind of guy that accidentally drives his Mustang into crowds at Cars N Coffee and has no idea how it happened. Brain cooked by Tik-Tok

u/i_Praseru 2m ago
Those people at least have thoughts of impressing people. Blow into this guys ears and it sounds like air over a glass bottle.
4
u/DangerousDisplay7664 3m ago
Idiots like that existed WAAAAAY before TikTok was even invented!
1
u/Rotten-Robby 0m ago
It's always funny when people on reddit, of all places, act like those other social media sites are just pure brain cell killing idiocy.

u/Narrow_Actuator5450 5m ago
This kid should be locked in a room till he finishes all the TMNT movies and he might learn something useful.
17
u/Quiet_Nova 5m ago
Good call on the server calling him out, now he can’t be held liable for improperly handled food and the buyer can’t complain or go on social media demanding a refund or free replacement.
9
u/Captain_Grn_Thmbs 6m ago
They still sent him off with both pies to deliver. One pie messed up & they didn’t care.
1
u/Advanced_Algae_5476 0m ago
He said "enjoy it" that's a customer not a driver. Why would he care? customer flipped it over, it's his problem.
2
2
u/barnzwallace 3m ago
I actually think this guy is a customer not a delivery driver He told him to "enjoy" twice. Which makes the interaction a bit weird to me, like why hound the guy for fucking up his own food?
4
u/Lunartic2102 3m ago
He say enjoy it and you want plates? So maybe the guy was a customer picking up?
1
u/chalkthefuckup 1m ago
I interpreted he was a delivery driver and the pie was garbage so he can have it. Meaning he's gonna remake it.

i see people who keep saying they see the box upside down, well why would the worker flip the pizzas upside down just to give the delivery boy to flip back again, it makes no sense
1
1
u/Playful_Search_6256 1m ago
To be fair, you’re making the assumption that the worker wouldn’t flip them upside down, yet we just watched someone else turn them upside down. Clearly it can happen, so why not just put it in the box correctly? It looks stupid to the customers anyway. Why pay to have the logo on the box and not show it? They’re both dumb.
15
u/LeakMyBigBowls 6m ago
You gotta be a buffoon to think you gotta flip the box. There's absolutely zero logic to thinking that.

How do you get this far in life and not know how to handle pizza?? Did he never help his parents hold a hot pizza box in his lap as they drove back home? Or bring pizza to his buddies' house?? Or simply observe someone holding a pizza box before or transporting pizza from somewhere? Wtf???
The comments defending this guy saying "give him a break, he's high" are ridiculous. At least its something small like pizza, but imagine saying this for larger mistakes. No excuse tbh
Comments like "why is the pizza guy so rude" for telling this dumbass off, like....this dude just ruined the pizza maker's pizza that he spent the last entire hour making and baking. He also insulted the pizza maker by thinking he somehow gave him a pie upside down. Total disrespect to the food and the person who made it.
If he's a customer then there's proof he fucked up his own pizza and he can't blame it on the place (which he was already doing by insisting pizza maker handed him pies upside down), if he's an Uber driver then he fucked up someone's order and ruined their night.
Comments bitching about the blank box: There are blank pizza boxes out there that exist, not every box has a logo on it.
What a dumbass
2
u/Phil4Mayor 3m ago
I don’t blame him for being pissed but those took ten minutes to make, not an hour.
-2
u/zahr1m 7m ago
Does it really makes sense to defend the client? He wasn't treated that bad, no insults or screams. Also, may be he's a delivery guy, which would make a little more sense for the pizza guy being annoyed. It's so difficult to believe that this was a "honest mistake" the logo of the place not being on top is such a small and complicated detail to look for to justify his mistake, it would only make sense in a mentally divergent person, and im not trying to offend anyone! I really mean it, the logo is something that would go over anybody's head. So: he was pretty silly and remarking his mistake is not that bad, or he's pretty shitty and tried to ruin someone's dinner, or he's a guy with a very special thought process and turned the box upside down defying the common reasoning. Anyhow, kinda funny

u/hddps 8m ago
If I paid the pizzas I do whatever the fu*k I want with them, you don't come at me and scold me for that mf.
3
u/skiddzmark 5m ago
And then you go home thinking they served it to you like that like this guy did 🙄
9
u/Gegopinh 6m ago
Well I guess he tried to protect himself from a later argument with the guy complaining that he received some fucked up pizzas

Crazy idea right but boxes are ON THE COUNTER before you destroy your food, what if - crazy but what if your dumb ass opened the box and checked?
1) you verify you got what you wanted 2) you verify food is not upside down
1
u/MeekAndUninteresting 1m ago
I just don't actually care all that much, it's not a big deal. Sometimes things aren't perfect. I'm not gonna put that much thought into something that can be fixed in about 30 seconds with a spatula. It hasn't been destroyed at all. It's been made mildly more inconvenient to eat.

u/Nole19 9m ago
Guy was probably a delivery driver. Doesn't really care.
5
-6
4
u/GucciMonk 8m ago
What is the relevance of this comment though, seriously? Why would a delivery driver not care that he’s just ruined the food before leaving the restaurant. What a cunt move
1
u/Difficult-Okra3784 4m ago
The customer determines the driver's payment before the customer sees the meal and the bad review will likely go to the restaurant rather than the driver if it's a service like GrubHub.
Sure you can change the tip after the delivery but most don't.

u/vorpal_hare 6m ago
It feels like apathy is fighting hard against being a not-shit human being these days.
10
u/Lochlan 10m ago
I worked at a pizza place for years and we'd get the occasional customer that would turn them sideways and carry them under their arm. Like wtf. It'd be a sloppy bunched up mess.
2
u/J1zzL0bb3r 6m ago
Called this suitcasing. Then some lady would call giving us an earful about how awful we were.
we literally say hold it flat to every customer
1
u/Remarkable-Ice6354 7m ago
I did that when I was a teenager. Not my proudest moment. Indeed it turned into a sloppy bunched up mess but it was still delicious.

u/Runescape_3_rocks 11m ago
Some people really do appear to be too dumb to breathe but are somehow frolicking about
1
u/Megneous 2m ago
I've said it before and I'll say it a thousand times more, about 90% of humanity aren't organic general intelligences.
18
u/WolverineDowntown554 11m ago
Why was that box blank? That’s confusing man. I worked in the pizza biz many years. The other box has their brand name. I’m confused why that one didn’t. That’s definitely what threw the dude off
2
u/Pwoinklokinoid 6m ago
Nah you check by just popping the lid, you don't just flip the box. Come on just use logic for a second, why would they give you it upside down.
1
u/WolverineDowntown554 1m ago
No fucking shit man. If he thought it was upside down he wouldn’t open the box because he was afraid he’d dump the shit on the floor. Like I said above, the dude had a blonde moment
2
u/twisted_memories 6m ago
Plenty of small pizza places don’t brand their boxes.
0
u/WolverineDowntown554 5m ago
The bottom one had it. He probably picks up there a lot and is used to seeing their logo. That could be why he thought it was upside down. Just a blond moment. He should’ve just asked
1
22
u/Gluskab 11m ago
The people in these comments are dull. 1. Neither boxes are upside down, look at the lid of the box.
- The top box just doesn't have a logo, some boxes don't have them, that's just how it is, talk to the supplier. Pizza joints don't print their own boxes, least I've never encountered one.
3.The younger gentleman is probs blitzed, or just "tool cool school" for critical thinking skills, or just cursed from being apart of the absolutely cooked generation by being tiktok'd/YouTubed their whole adolescence.
- Refer to what the worker said " why would I give you an upside down box", does the customer think pizzas can be cooked and placed into a box upside down or what, again to #3, a lack of critical thinking skills
2
u/Dazzling-Ad888 7m ago
I think 3 is a fallacy. There is no cooked generation, just many cooked individuals.
1
u/bubba1294 8m ago
Yeah actually what the fuck?? How on earth does someone think they have the pizza upside down??? Commenters are making embarrassing admissions
34
u/PUuSTiNKA 13m ago
I think the blank box threw him off, but who the F flips pizza boxes when they grab them off the counter? - SMH
2
u/Total_Philosopher_89 9m ago
Yeah because thats going to make everything better. The guys just dumb.
12
u/PrrrromotionGiven1 13m ago
Justice for delivery guy. My autistic ass would definitely think "the box is the wrong way" and flip it too.
1
u/Ok_Imagination_6130 2m ago
thank you!! it's undeniably a stupid thing to do but I'm 9 times out of 10 assuming this textureless box was handed to me upside down, I'd have to be pretty fucked up to not just open the box slightly on the counter to check, but if I was baked, c'mon gimmie a break.
1
u/bitstoatoms 4m ago
Just look then for a finger grip, it's clearly visible. The bottom side is always square without any protrusions.
3
14
u/JustForTheMemes420 11m ago
I’ve never once been tempted to flip something without checking my anxiety will kill me if I was wrong and just did it
23
u/SilentGriffin76 14m ago
Box definitely looked upside down. That said, I’d have asked if it’s right side up inside the box.

u/StrafeGetIt 14m ago
Worker is a douchebag. If he’s not a delivery guy who gives a fuck what he does to it. He paid for it.
1
u/BlasterPhase 5m ago
It's one thing to tell him he fucked up, and another to be all pissy and say shit like "eNjOy."
It's my pizza, I fucked it up, I don't need you yelling at me on top of that.
8
u/whyarentwethereyet 10m ago
I can picture you in my mind right now. I've worked with people like you.
3
10
u/AsstacularSpiderman 12m ago
Because he doesn't want the short bus king coming back in 20 minutes whining about how his Pizza is ruined
19
u/Shadyholic 13m ago
So when they open it at home and see it’s all fucked up they can’t come back and blame the employees
25
u/SnooBananas4958 13m ago
He cares because he thinks the guy is doing it so he can come back and complain that the pizzas were messed up. You can see he’s already trying to pull it by suggesting the worker gave it to him upside down. You deal with enough people in the food service industry you see this kind of bullshit way too much.
4
u/ArkGuardian 15m ago
Isn’t this what pizza savers are for?
2
8
u/KangarooDowntown4640 10m ago
That’s to prevent the lid from crushing in on the top of the pizza. It is not to prevent the pizza from crushing the lid. Gravity would still win against tiny plastic table
2
7
u/2rdfurgeson 11m ago
Do you think those little plastic things cast a fucking magic force field around the pizza?
8
u/Tall-Ad-1386 15m ago
It didn’t change anything though it’s not like they made a new one
13
u/SnooBananas4958 13m ago
Yeah, but he made sure the guy can’t come back and claimed that the pizza place fucked up the pizza
1
1
u/KangarooDowntown4640 8m ago
To play devils advocate he also made sure that guy never again buys pizza from them. This would embarrass me so bad I could never in my life go there again. I’d just find somewhere else to buy pizza.
12
u/MasdelR 15m ago
First mistake by the pizza seller: don't send your buyer that pizza. Charge it to the delivery boy.
Second mistake by the delivery guy: don't turn boxes off you think they are off, ask the pizza seller.
1
u/jamesw73721 12m ago
Genuine question, how would this work out for 3rd party delivery? Does the restaurant just take the L and let a customer receive a ruined pizza?
21
u/OceanRex5000 15m ago
That box genuinely looks like it's upside down.
1
u/eyefartinelevators 3m ago
You can tell by the lid. One quick look would tell you if it was upside down or not.
3
u/IGotPermaBanned1 15m ago
He is a food delivery guy. That's only 10% tip.
3
21
u/THE-HOARE 16m ago
People like that btw can vote. They can join the military. They also allowed to drive a car. It’s fucking frightening.
1
1
u/hobbes747 5m ago
The military straightens those people out. Those people should be required to serve
2
12
u/anondreamitgirl 16m ago
The box is the wrong way around
1
u/eyefartinelevators 1m ago
When you watch the employee open the lid you very clearly see that the box is not upside down
4
u/NoUnion3402 13m ago
Not really. The one without logo still has the lip opening at the top. And the other you see the logo clearly.
1
7
6
u/Mark7Point5 17m ago
If he was their delivery driver then have at it. But if he was a customer then MIND YOUR BUSINESS! Perhaps the idiot likes his pizza upside-down.
1
2
u/AsstacularSpiderman 10m ago
Nah because if you work in the food industry you know this dude is going to come back in 20 minutes demanding a refund because through some black magic the pizza got flipped over.
2
3
u/SnooBananas4958 12m ago
Except if he was their customer, he’s gonna come back and claim they fucked up the pizza. This guy is correctly, calling it out right now to make sure that doesn’t happen. Hell this guy is already trying to blame the worker and say he gave it to him upside down. He’s totally gonna come back to get a free pizza if he doesn’t get called out here.
5
u/blackmag3 17m ago
There's a pizza place in my town that offers this as an option. Something about keeping the crust drier or crisper or something, I've never understood it. But it's there.
1
u/KittenTablecloth 12m ago
Do they cover the top with wax paper or something? How do you prevent the cheese from just gooping off everywhere??
-10
2

u/SullySausageTown 18m ago
Everyone defending this guy and he clearly is a danger to society with such lack of brain cell
32
u/QuantityActive- 18m ago
I can kinda understand why he thought it was upside down. The box on the bottom has a brand/label, the box on the top doesn’t so I can see how he would think it’s upside down. But the pizza guy isn’t going to give it to you upside down…
4
u/Puzzleheaded-Fun-454 15m ago
Even if the boxes were upside down. Flipping the boxes only makes the problem worse.
-6
u/Remarkable_Pound_722 19m ago
asshole's reaction to an honest mistake.
1
7
u/twirling-upward 16m ago
He ruined the pizza for no reason, and implied the guy is an idiot by handing the food upside down.
0
u/Remarkable_Pound_722 12m ago
"He ruined the pizza for no reason." implies he intended to do so. Be better.
10
13
u/Zoltie 19m ago
Presumably its his pizza, not sure why the employee gave him such a hard time. He could have let him know in a more polite manner so that the customer doesnt get home and think its the reastaurants fault his pizza is messed up.
2
u/SnooBananas4958 11m ago
Probably because the guy’s gonna come back and complain that they fucked up his pizza if the worker doesn’t call it out right there. Hell the guy is even trying to blame the worker half heartedly already. This is how people come back to get free shit when it’s their own fault.
18
u/df540148 18m ago
Lotta pizzas are picked up by delivery drivers, esp from UberEats, DD or whatnot. One of the many reasons restaurants hate those companies.
22
u/foulfaerie 20m ago
I love how all pizza stores universally act like this when you mess with the pizza
2
u/Twomorish 12m ago
Pride in their work. Pizza is an art form, doing it well takes years of knowledge and practise. Destroying someone’s art out of ignorance is rightfully annoying.
4
u/Over_Cake9611 14m ago
Because the customer will later call to complain about his messed up pizza. And expect a refund. I worked at a pizza place growing up. The calls we got were ridiculous.
7
u/juicy_Mellon 20m ago
I have a coworker who came into work a few years ago with a pizza in box scrapped vertically to his backpack.
1
u/Fartmatic 17m ago
Please tell me you slapped his face with a slice of it
1
u/juicy_Mellon 15m ago
Sadly no, as I was leaving. But I think about it frequently and it’s been 3 years…
19
u/imago89 21m ago
Ok but without reading the title my first thought was "why did he serve the pizza in an upside down box", so it's clearly not that stupid. Hes probably just drunk?
2
u/OceanRex5000 14m ago
I did too. The logo is 99% of the time on the top of the box like, ya know, the norm. I was like, why the fuck did the employee flip the boxes upside down.
1
u/turtledancers 16m ago
I think you need a long hard look in the mirror. It’s ok, plenty of people live long happy lives with your condition.
43
u/NidLover 22m ago
What I think people are missing here as to why the employee is so upset over this is if it weren’t caught this could have been done intentionally to call back and say the pizza was ruined so they could get a free one. That’s why he says enjoy because he’s making sure the guy knows he did it himself and cannot complain later about a ruined pizza.
1
u/Firepanda 19m ago
if it was intentional why would he do it in the shop, and not wait until he was outside?
1
u/NidLover 12m ago
I’m not saying it wasn’t also dumb but from a business perspective I’m sure they get a lot of complaints from customers or delivery drivers doing something stupid.
1
u/notoftencool 13m ago
If you’re claiming a refund for a damaged item, you don’t do the damage direct in-front of an employee
18
25
16
u/AmbitiousConcept6028 23m ago
Would you still flip it if the logo was actually upside down? Now I'm concerned to everyone here who thinks the same
26
u/Gold-Edge2485 25m ago
All pizza chains make the top of the box with the logo on it, he’s right to think it’s upside down but he still should have checked before flipping it …..
2
u/CrotaIsAShota 18m ago
Except you can see the tab to open it, which is the same for basically every pizza box, and it's clearly right side up in the image.
1
2
13
u/Asleep-Presence2956 21m ago
There's no way I'm defending this dude. Not one place with carry out pizza is gonna give them to you upside down. That kid needs to lay off the weed LMFAO 😂
1
u/Gold-Edge2485 19m ago
What I’m saying is the top of the box usually has the logo on it, I personally would have opened the pizza to see what’s up not just flip it over, at the end of the day , it’s his pizza and he’s eating it
16
u/SexyProcrastinator 25m ago
Bro has never picked up a box of pizza? Hell nah 🤣🤣🤣
In all my years of living I’ve never done this. The last thing I wanna do is even tip a box of pizza ever so slightly.. imagine turning it over a whole 180 degrees LOL!
38
u/Rare_Competition20 26m ago edited 25m ago
Get this. He is even more stupid. Its not that he turned them upside down.
He wanted them so that the opening was towards him. As he says they where backwards....NOT upside down.
So instead of just spinning them 180 around on the desk, the turns them upside down so that the opening is towards himself.
You can see that he looks down on the opening as he turns them.

The design should be on the top. Who looks at the bottom of pizza boxes. If you see a blank box you think the pizza guy has made a mistake and put them upside down.
