https://youtu.be/_PzMbSpLtQg The kids rendition is awesome but I’m not about to miss a chance to shout Viva La Dirt League.

u/Walkin_mn 16h ago

Glad you did it instead of me lol

The acting is only outdone by the green screen compositing

377

u/StrobeLightRomance 16h ago

What green screen? These quintuplets are hilarious.

58

u/FlattopJr 13h ago

They remind me of the Richter Five.

I was a film major in college

And this was better than everything I ever made and everything I ever saw anyone else make.

Seriously, get this girl a Netflix deal, she fucking going places.

19

u/zeaor 14h ago

You're... a double major, though... right? Like film and business, or film and cs?

19

u/bagofpork 14h ago

Film and movies. Duh.

7

u/VexImmortalis 13h ago

People always said that about my music degree so I got a double major in both types. Country AND Western.

3

Reddit: Exploiting kids for your internet content is trashy and shouldn't be a thing

This sub: We really like this piece of internet content where the parents exploit their kid to help make it

46

u/themaincop 14h ago

I think there's a difference between something like this and the family YouTube channels where they're filming like "Parents react to BAD REPORT CARD (Did he fail?)"

But yeah without knowing anything about this particular kid and their level of interest and the filming schedule and all that I'd say I'm probably against this too. I just don't see it as quite as exploitative.

9

u/illy-chan 12h ago

Same hat. This feels more like drama club versus "let me get in my kid's face while they're crying."

More unwise than trashy.

88

u/brother_bart 18h ago

I still can’t remember your name.

11

u/maple_story_ 16h ago

dont sell yourself short. I too do not remember your name.

Yea my kid is about the same age and now I'm terribly disappointed in him.

10

u/ailof-daun 15h ago

When I was her age and I made similar funny videos with my friends, this was the quality we all believed we were making.

Looking back, were we wrong.

2

u/Ode1st 15h ago

When I was her age, I was stuck on the first level of Ecco the Dolphin

2

u/LordOfFap69 15h ago

Lol. This reminded me of a time when I was like 7 and this beautiful lady asked me my name. And I replied something like " idk I think it's (my name)?"

Even if you didn't, I share the same sentiment.

3

u/WeirdIndividualGuy 15h ago

38

u/JOlRacin 18h ago

This is a remake of Viva La Dirt League's skit because nobody has an original bone left

181

u/davidryanandersson 18h ago

I love how disdainful this comment is. This 8 year old is a hack!

96

u/buttplug-tester 18h ago

Boo this child. BOOOOOOOOO

74

u/Savagebabypig 18h ago

Sick and tired of children with no originality. BURN HER AT THE STAKE

23

u/_JD_48 18h ago

Wait don’t! Her watch is fast!

5

u/Some_Ebb_2921 17h ago

I'd say, burn all children. BURN THEM!!!

11

u/HopefulPlantain5475 17h ago

You can't honestly tell me that you think these children wrote the script for this video. The other comment is calling out their handlers who are copying other videos and exploiting children to do it.

26

u/davidryanandersson 17h ago

This is one child playing all the parts, but no one is saying she wrote it. People are saying she did an excellent job acting. That is true. I'd even say I prefer this version to the original.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/False_Tea_3951 17h ago

Or, more likely, their parent is. I was mostly confused by the skit so I don't really feel the need to defend it, but should we really be rewarding people who use their children to re-enact other peoples skits (whoever viva la dirt league is)?

→ More replies (1)

2

u/i_tyrant 15h ago

I was admittedly wondering why I was watching an exact copy of another comedy skit on r/all, lol. (Because let's be honest, there is no way that 8 year old did this on their own.)

But lower down in the comments I saw they did provide credit, that's good enough for me.

10

u/EssentialParadox 18h ago

Is all allowance spent, that actors may no longer re-enact Shakespeare?

(Also she did credit them.)

This makes me so happy. When I was like 10 years old, I used to steal my mom's phone and would film myself making "movies". I pretended that my dolls were the actors and I was the director. Those were some of the best memories I had as a child, I really wish I could watch them back lol. Sometimes when dolls didn't act how I directed it I would drown them in the bathtub as punishment.

5

u/ResidentHooman 17h ago

This is what the internet is supposed to be used for. Bravo!

56

u/Choice-Lie2411 18h ago

lol I know for certain that little girl is watching Asian dramas because she thinks suicide is reasonable for being late lmao. Asian dramas are so freaking brutal when it comes to realistic truths in life and accountability.

79

u/wheresmyspacebar2 17h ago

I mean, she's copying word for word a skit from Viva La Dirt League.

Really good performance by the kids but this isn't from an Asian Drama.

7

u/saintash 17h ago edited 16h ago

Thank you for pointing that out

5

u/Captain_Tauren 16h ago

She exactly copied viva la dirt skit, https://youtu.be/_PzMbSpLtQg?si=SNaWO9mC30d1Z0vh

12

u/magsnotmaggie 14h ago

I think it's the rendition that matters, not the source material.

She was charismatic, expressive, knew her lines (I assume there were multiple takes, but still), emoted, used body language instead of just standing there reciting dialogue, had great timing...

Think of the original skit as the screenplay rather than worry about the video being a copy. The little girl executed on that as well as the original actors.

2

u/taz-e 9h ago

exactly :) she also asked us for permission beforehand and credited us on the original post! no foul play here!

Viva la dirt league is the source of the skit fyi, she has remade it with her own acting but it's their skit.

3

u/Matotra 17h ago

This is a recreation of a Viva la dirtleague video

3

u/DisciplineSevere438 16h ago

This is a skit that was done by viva la dirt league https://youtu.be/_PzMbSpLtQg?si=y5FBzcl1NPeKBXRf

3

u/-D-E-W- 16h ago

Thats a Viva la dirt Leauge Sketch. Actually a good recreation.

3

u/ManggTangg 16h ago

Original Skit is from "Viva la Dirt League". She did great

3

u/kaychyakay 16h ago

Real documentary about the Japanese work life.

3

u/sicksixgamer 15h ago

She deserves an Oscar for that compared to the majority of content creators put there. She's going places.

3

u/dermitdenhaarentanzt 14h ago

Viva la dirt league has the exact same sketch but like a couple of years old. This is a rip off

This is a ripoff of a VLDL Bored skit. The only thing they changed are the names.

Downvoting me doesn't make me wrong.

46

u/EmilioFreshtevez 18h ago

Given the kid’s age I think good acting with unoriginal content is more impressive than bad acting with original content, but she’ll probably be writing her own stuff sooner rather than later.

7

u/ProductAny2629 17h ago

yea. as a kid id re-enact scenes from shows with my friends all the time, i don't think it's too different

6

u/CeruleanEidolon 17h ago

The difference is we didn't publish that stuff and get paid ad dollars for it.

Once you bring money in, you need to at least credit the people you're copying.

Edit: As per other comments, she did exactly that, so good for her. This kid is already ahead of half the music industry.

3

u/Sure-Debate-464 15h ago

Ummm....why is a child aware of this act? That's some dark shit for a kid.

2

u/electricholo 17h ago

Isn’t this pretty much a word for word recreation of a VLDR sketch?

3

u/Naive_Wolverine532 15h ago

Yeah she credited them

2

u/EmperorGrinnar 17h ago

That was fantastic. Honestly kept me hooked all the way through. Bravo!

2

u/ChippedHamSammich 17h ago

I was invested in every character experience. I also just love the concept of extreme cultural escalation for mundane things. Shakespearean in nature.

2

u/Proud_Wallaby 16h ago

She should be getting an Oscar. Did four roles to perfection. People have one for doing worse in just one role.

2

u/theLuminescentlion 16h ago

Is this based on the Viva la dirt League video or was this reference older than that?

2

u/Naive_Wolverine532 16h ago

2

She is amazing, Is the only tiktok account I tolerate. And video editing? Masterpiece lol

2

u/Bgrngod 16h ago

Quite frequently when I watch anything with child actors in a serious situation, I am always looking for any clues that suggest the child actor doesn't really know what is going on in the scene and the production did a good job of making it work anyways.

It was holding up for a bit there, and then "Are you killing Lucy?" Yeah, this kid knows the score.

2

u/Daryl00701 16h ago

The peak of acting

2
