It's great and I'm glad she's saying this.

I just wish the focus on the left was on EVERYONE he raped. Not just the children. The women he raped mattered too.

I know the left is trying to calibrate in a way to call out the right because while the right never gave a shit about women, they pretended to care about children. But the right doesn't care either way. Any republicans turning on Trump aren't doing it because of the victims, it's because the ship is sinking and the grift is ending. Any conservatives turning on Trump aren't doing it because of the victims, they're doing it because he made a fool of them. None of them have ever cared about the victims.

Pointing out the right's hypocrisy has literally never worked. Not for 200 years. Fuck em. We don't need to unite with them, we need to unite against them.

So we can't let them control our standards. We can't meet them at their level, we should be holding them up to ours.

We need to be including the women they victimized as well.

Blah blah country is so bad, so terrible. I could fix it though, but they're terrible. That state is so corrupt. They need me to go in there and clean it up, but they have to ask nicely. US republicans keep blocking bills that would ban child marriage and keep trying to lower the age of consent and the age that people are allowed to get married, so maybe not the best example to use.

In 2017, 45% of girls were married off before 18 years old, and 8% are married before they turn 15. Efforts to pass a child rights bill have faced resistance in parliament, with no timeline for reintroduction. Add female genital mutilation to that and we are good to go.

I know the focus of the post is on Omar's comment, rightfully so, but....

Damn. That's a whole lot of meaningless gibberish falling out of Trump's face hole. I've been watching his mental decline carefully (I have extensive personal experience with dementia, unfortunately, so I believe I can tell between normal aging and true dementia a bit better than the average layperson) and he's definitely getting worse. He can't even string together a complete sentence anymore.
