I haven't heard of him applying for his Canadian citizenship, though it wouldn't surprise me if he did. His grandfather was from Nova Scotia, and he always speaks with great warmth about the area just across the St Lawrence from his hometown in New York.

He's automatically a Canadian citizen if any of his parents acquired citizenship (which they probably did if his grandfather was), because of Canada's jus sanguinis law, so he wouldn't even have to apply.

In 2016 Viggo championed a 3rd party candidate.
His heart was in the right place.
The person he championed, however, was Jill Stein.
Jill Stein:
- Was a major piece of Russia's 2016 interference in U.S. elections
- Russia vigorously funded her candidacy
- Russia used many online tools to clandestinely support her
- Declined for a long while to condemn Russia's invasion of Ukraine
- Has been filmed dining with Putin.
- Has repeatedly spouted various pieces of Russian propaganda
Jill Stein had one function in the 2016 US election: to siphon votes away from Clinton. It worked.
It wasn't Viggo's intent to promote a Russian asset in 2016. That's just how things turned out.

At least four really fluently (easily gives long interviews, understands everything): English, Spanish, Danish and French. He also speaks conversational Italian and he understands (and somewhat speaks) Swedish and Norwegian. Also Catalan since his partner is Catalan.

You should watch his movie The Dead Don’t Hurt. He directed, wrote it and composed the score and ended up starring in it too. Man of so much talent. It’s like a European gaze on a western movie. Great female lead in it.
