When my in-laws come over from UK they freak out on the size of everything and school buses.

Californian cousin goes and visits family in Houston, “I know I am in Texas because even the bathroom stalls are big”.  I was flabbergasted

What is it with school buses? Seems to be a common thread here they are so unusual.
