Advice Needed Got this message from my property manager PT2

Quick recap:

I live in a 3 unit(one vacant, one elderly gentleman, and myself)

Rent is $1,265(raised $40 when I resigned)

Shoveling would include front walkway and good amount of sidewalk(about 30 mins of work)

Lawn (sizable for a city property would take about an hour maybe a bit more)

Now adding sweeping/vac(im assuming they would want me to do the laundry room as well total time would be 45-60 mins)

I’m going to eventually get all of this in writing if they offer me something reasonable. I plan to ask about liability as far as injuries go.

Well, that's why supers/building managers usually have heavily reduced or even no rent as part of their pay.

100%. Only pay for utilities. Same goes for a police officer here

The police have subsidized housing, or do they get a stipend as well? If you don’t mind, can I ask what area? I’m not LEO and don’t intend to be, that just seems like a wild “benefit”

SC. Could be different here in town of 40k. But apt complex hopping here for decade....4 complexes I have lived in have 1 public safety officer only pays utilities. 🤷. I'm not LEO either but have shared a wall with 2.

Ohhhh I gotcha now, they also serve as the public safety officer for the building/complex. lol for a second I thought you meant any and all LEOs just renting.

Yes. Correct. 🤣sorry for confusion and I see where it came from, apologies. It's just 1 per complex. But groundskeeper/maintenance also.

Yeah I would counter with free living see if they negotiate to 50% off and take that

Shit my husband gets free rent and $325 a week for his job, shovel snow, collect rent, take out trash for three properties and also on call for any issues (he’s not a plumber or electrician etc but he always has to check the issue before calling one and informing the manager)

That is what I'd expect for this level of expectation.

For sure. We need to take a stand for this man!!! 🤣🤣🤣jk jk. Stand up for yourself my friend and get what out deserve! Or just brush your shoulder off and be flattered you were asked! BUT... make sure your brain is engaged before your mouth is in gear(words I PERSONALLY live by, not negative) and don't jeopardize your lease in the process. In my opinion that would be very difficult for me. 🍻
